It appears the K7 is now working as it should, with the latest V.04 firmware upgrade and my 256Gb card installed. I can see all movies and photos.
It was a bit of a saga to do this though. I had to purchase a new 32Gb card….all my other cards are 64+. I also had to purchase a USBC memory card reader as my inbuilt PC memory card reader was not functioning. Then there was the issue of sourcing the latest firmware version from INNOVV to download. The version provided in their “how to download” section was from 24/07/05 V.03, not the latest V.04…..where did you find that version?
So I loaded my new 32Gb card via my new USBC reader onto my PC. I then formatted it to FAT32. I then copied the IN file that I created yesterday on my PC onto the memory card. Luckily I kept that IN file, as I could not find that latest V.04 version anywhere on the INNOVV site. I inserted the 32Gb into the INNOV K7 and it recognised the IN file and upgraded the firmware. I then reinstalled my 256Gb card into INNOVV and all looks good.
As someone who worked in IT for 40 years, with the last few at very senior levels, I can honestly say that INNOVV’s firmware update processes “stink” (that’s a technical term😆😆😆). It really needs to be reviewed and updated as a matter of urgency. Customers should not have to go through what we just have. My Garmin GPS automatically checks for any map or firmware updates via an available local network when powering off, and implements them before powering itself off. It is not that hard.
