Recently purchased a 2nd hand H5 and I have had a few occasions now where the camera is not loop recording, I have switched this on in the settings and when I then goto view the last ride they are not there despite camera running ? Has anybody else had the issue and if so is there a fix ? I have tried a factory reset but this did not resolve the issue.

    Hi Glen,
The loop function means that recordings are made of the set duration and that when the SD card is full, the oldest recording is overwritten. This is according to the principle of first-in-first-out.
To properly perform a factory reset, it is best to perform a firmware update. This works better than holding down the button on the remote control for 10 seconds.

I have the same problem. The camera starts up (vibrates twice) but when I check the SD card at the end of the day, there’s no video. And Sometimes the camera shuts itself off for no apparent reason. I have just re-done the firmware update (I did that back when I first got the camera) and I have formatted the SD card–again. By the way, there isn’t another place for the video to be stored. The SD card has a folder for video files, and a folder for jpeg photos. There is no “accident” file that I can find.

    Hi Stephanie,
The part about the accident folder is my mistake. The H5 does not have an accident folder. I have also edited my previous message.
The red LED, is it on continuously or is it flashing?
After how much time does the H5 switch off? When the battery runs out, the H5 switches off automatically. With the highest resolution and bitrate I can record for about 3.5 hours. Wifi is then turned off because that is a big power consumer.
Did you format the SD card on a computer or in the H5 using the app? It is recommended to do this with the app. If you do this with a computer, it can sometimes happen that the H5 sees the card, but no longer writes files to it. This can also happen if you have put the SD card in the computer to download the video files.
What type of SD card are you using, a U1 or U3 class? U1 is a ‘slower’ SD card and is not recommended.
