I have the K3 camera system, and I chose this over the K5 as I was short on space. The smaller cameras fit very well around the monster SP and I’m happy about most of the stem except for 2 things but mostly its the audio quality. I’ve everything I can think of to get this better but it still sounds like I’m riding the bike through a swimming pool and I can’t post any ride videos with that quality of sound.

I have the microphone tucked away outside of the wind. The cable is shielded to prevent any induced noise and I think I’ve tried every combination in the settings. Currently Mic at the front of the bike behind fairing, GPS located at the rear. Mic volume set to 100%. Video format TS.

    Device version K3.20220521.V1.1.15

    Any help/advise greatly appreciated.

    Hi Ian,
Try it with a lower volume setting. The K3 suffers from a kind of audio limiter which gives the sound the ‘swimming pool’ effect at higher volumes. It is playing with the right place on the bike and using the dead cat. But I think it will not be perfect.
If I compare the sound between the K3 and the K5, both on my bike and the microphones mounted in the same place, then the K3 comes out less well.

Thanks Hans. How low do I need to go on the volume to see a difference? Does it need to be under 50%. I’ll take it for a test this weekend.

    Hi Ian,
It’s trial and error to see how low you should turn the volume down.
But even if you turn it down it won’t get much better.
