I just installed the K7, and it seems to be working fine, but I do have a question.

Can I selectively record a period when riding? I have downloaded and installed the app. When I connect to the camera it shows what looks like a record/pause button. When I touch it, it does seem to toggle between record and pause. So it seems like it may be recording.

So my question, is it recording like it seems to be? I can’t seem to locate any video files other than what is automatically recorded. If it is recording, are the files saved on my phone? On the dvr? Is there a certain folder for these, or are they saved among all the others?

    Hi Martin,

The K7 automatically starts recording when the ignition of your motorcycle is turned on. When the ignition is turned off, the K7 also turns off automatically. So you do not have to start/stop the recordings with the app.
The recordings are stored on the SD card that you insert into the K7. To get recordings on your phone, you have to download them from the K7 using the app.
Recordings on the SD card can be found in a standard folder, or in an accident folder or in the parking mode folder. This all depends on how you have set up the K7.

Yeah, I get all that. Totally understand it. What I want is to record a particular part of a road. At the start, hit the record button… record what I want, then hit pause to stop recording. Store it separately from the automatic videos. On the phone would be great. Then access it without having to sift through hundreds of videos to find the one I want.

Will the K7 not do anything like that? I’m kind of wondering why have a record/pause button on the app if o can’t, you know… pause and record. Am I making any sense?

    Hi Martin,
How you want to use the K7 is actually as an action camera. So only recording when you want to. The Innovv cameras are developed as dashcams. So continuous recording without you having to do anything yourself. And without you needing a connected phone.
If you want to make a specific recording using the app, you must always have your phone and the app actively at hand. Incidentally, the recordings are then still stored in the camera and not on the phone.
The fact that it is now possible with the app is more of a nice-to-have function. An alternative method could be that you use the button on the remote control. If you press the button briefly, the current recording is saved in the protected files folder. Okay, the disadvantage is that you have to press the button for each recording.
But using the protected video you can more quickly find out what the starting point was of the recordings that you want to save.

    Hi Martin,

if you want the K7 act more like an action cam, there is the cumbersome solution of laying the yellow cable to the front and then connecting it to switched power via a switch on the handle bar. This way you could start and stop the K7 when needed. It is not a record/pause function, but the result is the same.
