You don’t need the app to record.
The app is needed if you want to adjust settings in the K6 or download videos to your phone.
To avoid conflicts with streaming, I advise you to set the wifi timer as short as possible. For example 2 minutes. Please note that if you are going to download videos, you set the wifi timer longer.
You can see the status of the wifi and recording using the LEDs (green/red). See also the user manual, which can be found at https://innovv.com/pages/k6-dashcam-support
