Thank you for you help Hans, it’s greatly appreciated. I reached out to Innov support and they
told me that recording was limited to 5 min despite knowing its 12, so
it seems 12 min is the longest loop allowed. The good news for me is
that once the videos are joined in editing, no video is lost. There is
however a slight blip in the audio which is fine for me as I am not
doing commentary, just the glorious sounds of an 2006 FZ1 running up and
down the rpm range. I was able to upgrade the firmware, I just picked
the one with 5g in the name and it was quick and painless. It would be nice in future updates for the recording time limit to be bumped up a bit, maybe tie it to resolution choice if its a bandwidth issue. I really do like the camera system and the mounts provided worked perfect for me, I just added a quad lock extender arm to clear the fairing being in view. I was able to tuck the front one under the fairing in the middle and gives a nice shot down low. For the rear one I cut a piece of maybe 1/8 aluminum, 3-4MM, and attached it under the license plate and left a tab sticking out just beneath for the mount. It bounces a bit on rougher bumps but its stable for the most part. If anyone is interested, I’ll come back and post some installation shots. Its really not that difficult of an installation. The hardest part is deciding where to attach the yellow, key-on hot wire. I put mine on a switch because there may be some times I don’t want to be recording. 😋 Thanks again. -
I formatted the drive within the app and let it sit and record and it
still only creates 12 min videos. There is nothing in the settings that
explain this. There were videos in the accident folder before the
format even though I didn’t touch the G-Sensor and it was at default with mild riding. They too were only 12 min. This time I set the G-Sensor as low as it could go and still 12min videos. I think if the sensor was the issue it would be more random. This is pretty consistent and does it while not moving. I am using a SanDisk Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-I Class 10, V30, U3. 512GB. I think I will try turning back on the looping since that was the only change made and if that doesn’t work reset it to factory and try again. If that doesnt work maybe flash the Firmware. On that, there are 2 links on the Firmware page that are confusing. IK7.20240705.V03-2.4G = IN-K7-1 (2).bin / IK7.20240705.V03-5G = IN-K7-1 (3).bin The file names are exactly that, I double checked by deleting everything in downloads in between downloads. Do both of these need to be applied? At once or separate? And here I thought the hard part was going to be the installation.
