Is there a decent manual or instructions available?!
Hi,
I really struggle to understand how to use this dashcam with the “instuctions” provdided. Both with the hardware as well as with the app. Is there somewhere some more information for both?As for power supply I can either install the DC-converter, OR use the attached USB-cable, given that the USB plug available provides enough power? I’d prever the DC-converter, but I really don’t know where I can find a suitable ignition switch connection for the yellow cable (on my KTM 890 SMT).
But I do have several usb-ports which are connected to the switched ignition power, so I’d go with that.When I connect the dashcam to the usb port and this provides the power when I switch the bike on, it should start to record? When I plug it into a usb port on my computer, it shows half red and blinking green light.
And also in the app I miss a decent instructions of how to use the dashcam. It says there is a intervall loop of up to 5 min. there is picture function and continous videos mode and G-force video mode and a a function to protect a video… I don’t understand any of this the way it is “explained”/presented.
You can switch between front/rear/combined camera view. But what is actually recorded? How much? a new video every 5 minutes for as much fits onto the SD card?So I simply don’t understand how to use this dashcam at all. And how to use which function for what.
Can anyone point me to some in detail manual/instructions of how to make use of this?

Unfortunately there isn’t a better manual.
I would definitely recommend installing the power converter instead of powering via USB. The power converter will correctly switch on and switch off the K6, which will avoid corruption to the sd card.
If the USB power is lost whilst the camera is still recording, the k6 will not be able to finalise the video file, and may corrupt the recording.
The k6 will always record separate front and rear videos. But can display individually or combined within the app. You will always have access to the individual files though.

Hm, that is a good point, thx. I read about issues with it not turning off reliable, maybe an exception. Therefore I first thought the USB option isn’t that bad, because I know this turns off..
I am just not sure from where to get that switched power signal and if I get to it in a decent way..

I’ve had my K6 for several years and never had issues with it not turning off.
I have a zzr1400, and was able to take a switched live from the accessories circuit. Many people use a feed from the tail-light. It might be wise to ask on a forum dedicated to your model of motorcycle to get advice on which wires to use.
If you use USB power, you will have to stop the k6 recording before switching off bike ignition.

If you are going to power the K6 with the USB cable, there are a few points to keep in mind:Before switching off the USB power, first switch off the K6 yourself. If the K6 is hard-shut down because the power is switched off, the last recording running may not be playable. Additionally, the SD card may become corrupted, which could cause the K6 to exhibit strange problems.
If you power the K6 with the included DC converter, the K6 will start up and begin recording when the ignition is turned on and shut down correctly when the ignition is turned off. So, you have no chance of the aforementioned problems.
According to Google, you can find a switched power supply at the ACC2 power supply, the USB port on the left side of the TFT screen. Connecting your taillight is also a good option.
The half-red light/green flashing light, according to the manual, means that recording has started but that there is no active Wi-Fi connection. Regarding the app:
Interval loop 5 min: A new recording starts every 5 minutes. Therefore, recordings last a maximum of 5 minutes.
Picture function: You can take a photo using the app. In the app, go to the camera button, i.e., the button with the camera icon.
Continuous video: A continuous recording is made with the length you have set for loop recording.
Gravity sensor: This allows you to set the sensitivity for an accident video. An accident video is a video that is protected against overwriting. This is triggered by the g-sensor when it detects a specific force/tap/jerky movement.
Switching between front/rear/combined only affects the live video display in the app. Both the front and rear camera videos are recorded on the SD card. Therefore, 2 recordings are saved per set loop recording: one from the front camera and one from the rear camera.
If the SD card is full of recordings, the oldest recording is overwritten. it on a FIFO (first in first out) basis.
