The blue light on the power supply stays on even with ignition switched off. Is this normal, will this not drain battery.

I have connected live and neutral to battery and yellow to a switched live. BMW R1250RS and all seems to work otherwise. .e.g comes on when intention on and goes off after about 2 minutes when ignition off….but blue light on PSU stays on.

    Hi David,
This is normal. It means that your battery voltage is sufficient to keep the parking mode active. It will not drain the battery. If the battery voltage gets too low, the blue LED will go out and the parking mode option will be automatically disabled.
With BMW, the voltage on the yellow wire (depending on where it is connected) remains present for another minute. After that, the K5 also needs another minute to switch off. So it is correct that the K5 only switches off after about 2 minutes.

Thank you Hans, that is very reassuring. I can now confidently reattach the body panels and go for a ride.
