My K6 front and rear are installed and working fine.

I start the bike, open the settings, connect to Innovv wifi, go the app and it starts recording. so far so good. Then i close the app and either login to my BMW app or just put the phone in my pocket, 30 seconds or so later the camera goes off line and stops recording. I dont understand what i’m doing wrong, surely one does not have to leave the app open, it should run in the background if I’m using my phone for other things. any thoughts on what’s going wrong.

    Hi Brian.

The K6 should start recording without the app. It should go into record about 10 seconds after you switch on the bike.

Are your red and black cables connected to a permanent feed? And yellow to a switched feed?

      Hi Adam

yes red&black to the battery, yellow connected to a feed of rear brake light ( done by my local BMW mechanic as I’m not great with wiring).

another thing I’ve noticed, my default wifi is Virgin Media, once I connect to the Innovv wifi there is a piece of text within the settings on my iPhone stating that the Innovv setting does not connect to the internet. The phone then uses 4G and connects to Innovv. all is well, then shortly after that the green light goes out, red starts flashing and looking at the phone it has disconnected from Innovv and reverted to my Virgin Media wifi. So how do I stop Apple from disconnecting ?

    Hi Brian,
If the yellow wire is connected to your brake light, this would mean the K6 is switched on every time you brake. It’s better to have the license plate light switch the K6 on, as this switches on automatically when the ignition is turned on.

The K6 automatically starts recording when the ignition is turned on, so you don’t need to start recording with the app. Check if any recordings are made after 30 seconds.

The green light turns off when Wi-Fi is turned off. You can also set the time after which Wi-Fi is turned off in the app. Check the setting in the app; it might be set too short for you. Try setting the Wi-Fi timer to 5 minutes and see how it works. If Wi-Fi is turned off automatically, your phone will be disconnected and connect to a different Wi-Fi network (Virgin Media).

When you connect the K6 to your phone using Wi-Fi, your phone sees this connection as the access route to the internet. However, the K6 isn’t actually connected to the internet; it’s only a hotspot/Wi-Fi connection to your K6. This may be why your phone is reporting a lack of internet connection. After all, your phone is constantly searching for an internet connection.

In addition, iPhones sometimes struggle to maintain a good connection with an Innovv camera. We recommend putting your iPhone in airplane mode and then manually establishing a Wi-Fi connection with the K6.
