HI Guys, I’ve had a K3 for three years so so far it’s been fine, fit forget and let it just get on with doing what it does and when I’ve check the video everything looked fine, however I recently wanted to check a video and discovered a couple of anomalies.

First was the speed was now showing in KPH, not MPH.

Second was it wasn’t recording all the time. Sometimes days, weeks were missing, sometimes just the first half of the ride. Whether that was a corrupt SD card I don’t know, but I’ve put a new one in anyway.

Lastly I found whilst my iPhone connects to the Innovv wifi, it won’t connect with the app. The app opens fine and but if you click on the settings or video buttons all I get is a message ‘Prompt Please ensure the devices is connected Cancel / OK’. My phone is connected to the Innovv wifi (I’ve got that orange ‘No Internet Connection’ warning), and I’ve deleted & reinstalled the app the three times now. I’ve also done a reset to the unit and installed the latest update (and all three lights on the controller flashed for a while, then the unit restarted so I’m assuming it took the update okay), but still get the same message. I even read online it was worth putting the phone into Airplane Mode, tried that, no different.

The unit is still recording front & rear whilst I’ve been checking the above, the camera. GPS & Wifi symbols all light up on the controller, but I need to get into the settings to change the KPH back to MPH.

    Any suggestions?

    Regards

    Nick

    Hey Nick,
iPhones sometimes have some difficulty establishing a WiFi connection with Innovv cameras. The advice here is to put the iPhone in airplane mode and then manually establish a WiFi connection with the K3. So what you read is correct.
You may have a virus scanner active on your iPhone. If so, try turning it off and see what happens. After you have done the rest, have you checked the SD card using a PC to see whether the recordings continue to go well after the reset? In any case, all recordings go well.
Can you take a test drive with the power module disconnected and the K3 powered with a USB power bank? This is to rule out the possibility that power supply failures could cause problems.
Are all connectors still properly connected and free of moisture? Small rubber rings must be present in the connectors to ensure that the connectors are watertight. Bad connections can also cause mailfunctions.
Is it possible to install and test the app on another phone? Preferably not an iPhone but an Android.

Thanks for your prompt reply and it’s definitely an iPhone problem. I
did everything you said, disabled Norton, Airplane mode, Powerbank etc,
it made no difference at all. The phone connected to the Innovv wifi but
the app just kept on giving me the same ‘Prompt Please ensure the devices is connected Cancel / OK’ message. I borrowed a Android phone and it worked perfectly! A brief ride and it’s all recording fine as well.

Okay, I’ve made the changes I wanted, but there’s still a fundamental iPhone issue to be resolved.

Ya, Not connecting to my IPhone after multiple-multiple attempts I’ve made over the past 3 weeks of owner the unit. and ZERO response from customer service. I understand now why they will not list a phone number to call.

        Hi Joseph,
Did you put the iPhone in airplane mode as I wrote in an earlier answer and then manually make a wifi connection with the K3? When you try to connect to the K3, does the WiFi LED on the remote control light up/flash?
Which customer service did you contact, Innovv.com or another supplier?

My unit is actually a K7. I did make contact with “[email protected]”. To say the experience was frustrating is an under statement. I completely understand there is a diagnostic process needed to determine the issues to which I completed ALL steps multiple times, with many being several times over and over and over. Unfortunately cs rep I was comm’ing with clearly was not grasping the issues that no matter the steps taken to this point, the unit will only connects for a few seconds and then disconnect. You know they say, the definition of insanity is.. Initially I was very excited to get this unit but have come to the realization its not worth the box they shipped it in.

All this said, I do much appreciate the time you took to respond.

      Hi Joseph,
After the few seconds that the wifi connection has been present, how does the wifi LED on the remote control light up/flash when the connection is no longer active? And how does this LED light up/flash when the connection is still active?

Can you check with another phone (preferably Android) whether the same problem occurs? This is to rule out whether the problem is related to the phone.

With the K6 I can simulate the problem by offering a supply voltage that is too low (too little power). Result: K6 starts up. Wifi connection is established but after a few seconds the connection is disconnected again. I suspect that establishing and maintaining the wifi connection costs more power and if this cannot be supplied the wifi connection is disconnected.

Attached is a print screen with the correct app, because I understand from the email exchange that there is/was some confusion about this.

Hopefully we can still figure out what is going wrong.
