    Cardo (Bluetooth) and Android Auto

Posted by donatello on 2025-03-24 at 08:53

When connected Android Auto to Phone everything behaves as normal. When connected to the INNOVV (which does this strange dance of wanting Bluetooth to set up, then wifi to run) the INNOV N1 takes control, but I cannot use Google Assistant (via Cardo or INNOVV) or talk on calls (it makes and receives calls, but does not let me hear or speak).

Music and navigation instructions play via the Cardo fine (which I assume is coming via the phone).

    Hi Roy,
Could it be that this has to do with which Bluetooth ‘channel’ you are using. With my Schuberth (=Sena) system I can indicate what I want to pair, a phone, GPS or another device (A2DP/handsfree). The type of device indicates which priority and possibilities in operation there are. Phone has priority over GPS has priority over music.
Perhaps Cardo also has similar possibilities and you have to pair the N1 in a different way.
I would like to hear if and how it worked.

The Cardo is using the phone channel to the phone. GPS channel is unused. I will try the other way around tomorrow to see if it changes the outcome.

    Thanks.

Having the same issue — answering the call from the Cardo headset fixes it, but when I answer the call from the Innovv N1, the microphone defaults to the Innovv, which means you can’t hear or talk.

Well that’s a major flaw on INNOVV’s part.

Not that I own the INNOVV N1 but my understanding is that the phone is connected to the N1 then the Cardo is connected to the N1 as well, I might be wrong there but consider the N1 is far more powerful than the Cardo and it should be able to handle both devices at the same time, much like some GPS systems which handle navigation, phone calls and music which is done seamlessly.

Thanks for adding to the conversation Herman. The INNOVV unit (in settings) has no bluetooth pairing mode. By default it connects to the phone, first via bluetooth, then WiFi.

The unit has a microphone on/off setting. In either position it takes the microphone away from Cardo.

At this time the INNOVV is not powerful: it is a chocolate tea pot.

Thanks for the response, Roy as you probably have found out through life skills there is mor than one way to do things, like as much as I like the N1 I would find it very distracting while riding, that’s why I prefer the K5 and H5, so you have no display to distract you while you are enjoying the ride, if I had to get another thing it would be a ThirdEye as I can see the advantage of it, 🤠
