Downloading files from K6
Posted by Kevin on 2026-01-04 at 18:05I have recently fitted the K6 and it works fine but I have found the app to be very unstable for viewing and downloading the videos. As a work around I installed DashCamPlayer from the play store which works very well with the K6. No need to remove the sd card now. Hopefully others will find this useful until Innovv fixes their app.

Hi Kevin,
Could you please explain what problems you’re experiencing with the app?
Could you also tell us what make/model phone you’re using and which app version? Without further explanation, we can’t help you, and it’s unclear to everyone why the app isn’t working properly for you. Could you tell us what you’ve already tried to get the app stable?
The Innovv app is well-developed. Users and the forum suggest that problems are more often related to the phone itself than to the app itself. -
But you still need to use INNOVV app to connect to K6, so how does this help?

Hi Adam, you don’t need the innovv app to connect to the k6. You just select the k6 connection within the dash cam player app.

Good to know.
Does it download any quicker?
What is the advantage over INNOVV app?

I don’t expect you to be able to download any faster. The Wi-Fi connection determines the download speed. You also need the Innov app to adjust the K6’s settings.
@Kevin, I’m still curious why you’re having issues with the app; see my previous questions.-
My phone is a samsung galaxy A25 5g. It has all available updates installed and I am using the latest version of the Innovv app. I have been switching off mobile data when trying to download video from the k6. I am using 3 minute clips. The app only downloads approximately 60% of the video. Downloaded videos are then played at an accelerated speed. It often crashes when downloading or viewing videos directly from the camera. The dashcam player app allows me to view, download and share all content reliably without the need to alter any phone connection settings. I have found the Innovv app to be good for setting up the camera and the auto start stop is working perfectly.

Hi Kevin, Thanks for the info.
Does the app crash after 60%, or does it just stop the progress bar?
In principle, you don’t need to adjust any connection settings before using the Innovv app.
Do you have an antivirus or VPN running?
Have you reinstalled the app? But be sure to delete all app data before reinstalling. If any old data remains, this could affect the new app installation. You can delete all app data by going to Settings, then Apps. Then select Force Stop. Then go to Storage and select Clear Data. Only then select Delete. This will delete everything.
If you’d like, send me a K6 video. I’m curious what happens when I play it in the app on my phone (Also Samsung). Let me know and I’ll send you my email address.

The advantage for me is it works. I haven’t been able to download a full clip using the innovv app and the connection is very poor. Playback of videos I have downloaded is accelerated in the innovv app.

I’ll give it a try next week. See if it’s an improvement for me and report back.

Hans, I have reinstalled the app following your instructions. The problem remains the same but I have found if I disable the screen timeout on my phone the download completes to 100%. However, when I view the downloaded clip it plays super fast. I am happy to share the file with you.
