EXIF info missing in JPG and MP4 files
It seems that EXIF information is mostly missing from the photo and video files that are stored on the SD card. What I am looking for is a quick way to get to the GPS coordinates without having to open the file and look at the watermark.
The JPG file is also missing tags like date taken – although this could be extracted from the file name.
Since the GPS provide the time in UTC it would also be nice to have this in a tag without having to always sync the time through the app. The device is not really able to handle different time zones, so always having a time tag in the file in UTC would be great plus.
Any plans for adding this information in the next firmware release?

Hi Harald,
If you often miss GPS data, check if the GPS module is working properly. Can you tell by the GPS LED while driving if you still have a fix?To view the GPS information, you will have to open the file somehow (with an app/program). You can also use the free version of DashcamViewer for this.
As far as I know, no GPS data is stored in a photo.
In principle, the K7 should retain the time once it has been synchronized with the app. The local time retrieved from the phone using the app is then kept as the leading time. You would only need to synchronize again if you move to a different time zone, because the K7 does not contain an overview of the different time zones. The same applies to countries where summer/winter time is used; here you will also have to synchronize the time every time after the transition to summer/winter time.
For users located in a time zone other than UTC+0, it would also not be practical to use UTC time as a timestamp. -

Thanks for your answer, but this is not what I am looking for.We have 6 – 7 time zones here in North America, and this caused issued when travelling across the continent this summer. After emailing with support, it turns out that I need to connect with the Innovv App each time I pass a time zone border to make the timestamp on the file and in the video correct. Just connecting to the WIFI is sufficient, I don’t have to use Update Time in the advanced settings.
As far as I know, GPS only supplies time in UTC, and if the K7 uses this time source too it will probably adjust according to the current time set in the K7.
My suggestion of adding EXIF tags for UTC and GPS makes it easier to find anomalies in the time stamps, and I don’t have to open the file itself in a video player or photo viewer.
I recommend that you take a video / photo from your phone and compare the different of EXIF tag information with what’s in the K7 files (where there’s almost nothing).
