Hi my K3 has all of a sudden decided to stop playing it will not connect via the app. It’s also decided to change speed to KPH instead of MPH, I tried to connect via the app and change this but it will not connect. It’s saying my password is incorrect etc. Hence going for the factory reset, i.e. hold the function button on the handlebar remote for 10sec. All the lights power down and just power on again and the standard factory PW still doesn’t work, its driving me nuts!

    Hi Kev,

the factory reset by pressing the button 10 sec does not reset the wifi password. To reset it, you have to re-install the firmware, as explained in the link below.

The firmware is already up to date was done back in July. So unless there a way to wipe it it’s not going to update as it’s already up to date, no?

Also serial 7 in FAQ on K3 page. What should I do if I forget the Wi-Fi password? clearly states:

Please kindly long press the Function Button on the Remote Control for 10 seconds to reset the K5 to the factory default Settings. Then you could easily reconnect the K5’s Wi-Fi with the default password 12345678.

    It’s not working.

    Hi Kev,
The only way to reset the password is to reload the firmware. Even if you are already using the same firmware version, that is the only way.

I’ve re-downloaded the latest firmware, deleted the same version that was on the SD card, reloaded the downloaded version, installed the SD card, switched on the bike. The green camera light does nothing?

When you do the reset via the button what is supposed to happen? Do you just switch on the bike and hold the button for the 10sec, are all the lights supposed to go off and while you hold it and restart/light back up? This they do but the password isn’t changed or at least that’s what it’s telling me! Is the password the router one or one you make up, I can’t remember?

It’s a shame the unit has worked perfectly for a year, it’s only since the up date I applied it appears not to be working.

    Hi Kev,
After re-flashing the firmware the password is 12345678.
See this video on how to flash the firmware. The video is made for the K5 but the procedure and the LED displays are the same as for the K3.

Hans, As mentioned I’ve done exactly that, the green light does nothing other than turn on?

    Hi Kev,
If the green LED stays on continuously it means that video is being recorded.
