I wiped out on the bike and the front cam got a little beat up. It was working right after accident. But not now A few things. I noticed today that a wire for the Innovv system got squished (under the front hood) and some wires were broken. Red, Brown, Yellow, Black, and 2 whites. No markings on the whites, so I tired them both ways. The camera gets hot. Also, the main thing that happened was that the camera got wrenched sideways, which pulled on all the wires going into the camera. Again, it worked right after. But now she dead. Any ideas? Or is this unit finished? Thanks.

    Hi KRTW.

Hopefully you and the motorcycle have not suffered any damage.

I think the K5 has unfortunately died. If it concerns the cable that goes into the K5, it will be difficult to repair it. Or you have to be technically handy enough to open the K5 and connect new cables yourself. The fact that the K5 gets hot also indicates that something is wrong. Normally the K5 does get warm. But when electronics become hot, this often means that too high (short-circuit?) currents flow.

So it looks like you will have to purchase a new front camera unit. If the other wiring to the power supply, microphone, rear camera and GPS unit is still good, you may not need to replace these parts. But that will be trial and error.

Thank you. I’ll not be replacing this system. Just going to remove it and toss it. The footage is just ok. I’ve used a little of it, but its only accident quality, and that’s was designed for. Too bad. One minor crash and $500 gone. But that’s life. The bike is fine. A few scratches and I got a nasty bruise on my hip. Was NOT wearing my Klim pants at the time due to heat. But lesson learned. You can see my stuff on FB or Instagram at KRTW Rhyder. The wipe out was filmed.
