After driving about 7,500 kilometers with the K6, I’ve noticed that the front lens seems to be worn out (at least that’s what I think). How can I replace the front lens myself?

I’ve attached two videos: firts one from the front camera and second one from the rear camera.
As you can see, there’s a significant difference in quality: the front camera is blurry and has much lower light sensitivity compared to the rear camera.

Also rear camera have rolling shutter effect. Is it possible to fix?

    Hi Andrey,
A lens won’t wear out very quickly. Therefore, replacing the lens won’t be necessary anytime soon. Additionally, there is a very high chance that you won’t be able to make it properly waterproof again.
The front lens will catch more dirt than the rear lens, so check if it is still clean.
Also, the specifications (technical and optical) of both lenses are different; see the manual. This also results in a difference in image quality between the two lenses.
Additionally, you often have sunlight on only one of the lenses and not on both at the same time; this also causes a difference in brightness.
The camera rolling shutter effect occurs because your rear camera vibrates too much. Check if the camera mount is still secure. You can add rubber rings as dampers if necessary. It can also occur if the cable is too tight. This causes vibrations to be transmitted to the camera as well. Consider placing the camera in a different location on your motorcycle.

Thanks for the answer. Seems like it’s not a wearing issue. I took a photo of the lens and noticed there’s too much dust under it. It needs to be disassembled and carefully cleaned.

Can you add this part as separate spare part to the shop?

    Hi Andrey,
    Thanks for sharing the photos.

I am surprised that there is dust inside the K6. This is because the K6 is IP67 rated. IP67 is an international standard indicating that a device is completely dustproof and protected against temporary immersion in water.
Could it be that the rubber ring at the seal on the back is missing, meaning when you unscrew the K6 to access the SD card?
By the way, Innovv will not be placing spare parts in the webshop. Innovv only sells individual parts that can be replaced without tools.

I found water in the front area inside the DVR (green circle). The back area (where the SD card is located) is completely dry. It seems the water got in while the bike was going through an car wash:

It seems to me then that the housing was not properly closed. After all, a car wash doesn’t spray much harder than driving through a rain shower, unless a high-pressure cleaner was used at the car wash.

Did you buy the K6 new? If so, you can certainly report this problem to Innovv. I can imagine they are curious how the moisture and dust got into the camera. Please report this via email or the contact form.
