GPS not registering any more flashing amber
Hi, after many years performing very well my K5 GPS does not register location/speed any more.
The GPS sign on the remote is flashing amber.
The connesors are all okay dry and clean (under cover BMW GSA 1200). It is facing upward immediately under the wind screen. Power on/power off did not make a change. LOatest firmare level is applied in 2021.

Hi Bart,
It is possible that the GPS receiver has broken down. Unfortunately, there are few ways to test if this is the case. You can really only test with another receiver.
Another option is to re-flash the firmware in case it has become corrupted, causing the GPS signal to no longer be processed properly. A factory reset is also an alternative. However, do give the K5 time to get a GPS fix again afterwards. If the K5 hasn’t detected a GPS signal for a long time, it can also take longer to establish a GPS fix.
If this doesn’t help, you could purchase a new GPS module to see if that is the solution; this would be an investment of approximately 30 euros.-
Thanks, I already re-installed the firmwate and restarted all. The systems was on for almost an hour, so GPS’s must be found.
