  • How to view videos on PC with Speed/GPS detail

    Hi all.

I have 2 K6’s installed on bikes via a Healtech Thunderbox, which does not provide power to the camera unless the engines are running.

If I download the videos to a PC, they do not show the speed or the GPS information. Just tried the latest Dashcam viewer software and same result.

I’ve also tried re-uploading the files to the DCIM\Innovv folder on the phone and viewing from the app, but there is still no speed/GPS detail.

Has anyone managed to find a way round this?

The K6 doesn’t have a GPSr module, so it can’t record any GPS metadata…

      Shoot…no speed info either?

Reckon I bought the wrong cameras for what I wanted 🙁

      Thanks for the reply though!

No GPS = no speed info

    Yup. Speed comes gps data.

    I bought K6 because I didn’t want GPS/speed data on video…

With other Innovv camera models, you can use the app to configure which information you want to display or hide. Only the watermark remains visible at all times. You can’t turn it off. It also requires at least one character. A dot is not accepted as a watermark. I’ve already asked Innovv several times if the watermark text can be disabled. This watermark is always annoyingly visible when I try to edit video recordings.

Also, if K6 doesn’t constant power it’ll cause issues with files and memory cards when ignition is switched off.

      Yeh, had that as well.

All info kept resetting, but saw another post that said to manually power off before power cuts

If the K6 is connected correctly according to the manual, it will turn off correctly when the ignition is turned off. This is done using the yellow wire. Interrupting the constant power supply (red and black wires) before the K6 is turned off can certainly cause problems.
Manually turning off the K6 is only necessary if it is powered by a power bank, as there is no yellow control wire in that case.

Thanks Hans. I use Healtech’s Thunderbox to control/provide power, which cuts power to connected devices approx. 5 secs after the ignition is off.

            Hi Adam,
I advise you to connect K6/K7 differently.
Make sure that K6/K7 is properly shut down using the yellow wire (ignition switched). If the power to the red wire is switched off too early, K6/K7 won’t be able to properly shut down the ongoing recording. Furthermore, the software won’t shutdown properly. This can result in strange malfunctions sooner or later.

    Hi Roman,
I have several Innovv cameras, and the K6 isn’t at the top of the line when it comes to image quality. This is partly due to the hardware used. Here’s a recording I made with the K6, which I placed behind the windshield of my car.

This video is unedited. Please note that YouTube may apply video compression, which may reduce the image quality.
