I figured the K5 has the following ports open:

    PORT STATE SERVICE

    21/tcp open ftp

    80/tcp open http

    554/tcp open rtsp

    3333/tcp open dec-notes

    8000/tcp open http-alt

I’m interested in what ways I can connect to the K5 with my laptop to do settings and download files. The web interface is pretty basic, for example it is not possible to download all files at once. So I would be particularly interested in the ftp port, but there’s no anonymous access. What username/password is set there? Also what’s possible with the other ports?

    Thanks, Juerg

    Hi Rostam,

Unfortunately, little is possible with the open ports. The app gives you the most options. Selecting multiple downloads is only possible with the app or by inserting the SD card into the computer. The last option is also the fastest option.
As far as I know there is no FTP server running within the K5 software.

What about cameras that don’t see the cards and I want to change the software to eliminate errors . I have two such cameras and this is the second one which is defective. the first one damaged after 4 months and the second camera after the warranty does not see the rear camera. these are some hidden defects.

    Hi Rostam,

sad thing that the old forum with all its content is gone, because there I wrote a long thread about the hidden features of the K5 (and K2/K3).

Forget the ftp port. There is no ftp server on the K5. But you can use the webserver to completely configure/control the K5 by using special http commands.

    http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd=x&par=y

with x being the option you want to set and y being the parameter/command.

So, as an example, http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd =8010&par=1 will set the video format to TS, while par=0 will set it to MP4.

You could also delete a video or all videos at once (cmd=4004), format the sd card (cmd=3010) or do a system reset (cmd=3011)

Attached you will find a Excel sheet I made with all settings I discoverd so far. Some settings of the K3 also applies.

Regarding downloading videos, you could only use a http tool like wget to download the videos via the webserver of the K5.

Hey Marc, using the K3 I tried several custom http commands and it did nothing to the camera, heres what pops up. See anything I did wrong? Any Ideas?

      Thanks Wayne

      Hi Marc,
I know this is cluttering the thread with a non answer but I thought it important to point out I and probably other nerds had this same question and came form google. So while I haven’t tested your answer yet, I’m appreciative that you’ve taken the time to document some of the features.

Personally, I’d like to have a script set up on my home serve to dump the contents of the dash cam each ride and this might be able to help.

    Hi Michaël,
Don’t forget to make a modification so that the K5 stays on when the ignition of your motorcycle is off. An extra switch between the yellow and red wire perhaps.
