    Hi looking for some assistance.
My 10mth old K5 has started to not work correctly.
    (see video)
I’ve reloaded the firmware multiple times, it responds and reset with the control button hold.

When powered on it will do as in the video,

    – it wont attempt GPS sync
    – the videos it does record are short 20/30 seconds on start up only
    – both cameras provide a feed
    – WiFi maybe come on for a few minutes, the control panel has a 50/50 chance of working
    – Same when powered by the bike or a battery
    – Memory card is fine (also reformated)
    – Firmwares take can see the version change in the control panel… if I get in
(the one in the video i thought i’d show as the version string never shown)

Also wondering if there is an older firmware I could ‘roll it back’ to to see if that worked.
Any help would be great, I only got it in July last year and was hoping to get a good use out of it soon

    Hi Alan,
What does the power converter show when the ignition is on, and what when the engine is running?
If you don’t insert an SD card into the K5, does the K5 boot up properly?
Try it with a different SD card anyway. Regarding the firmware update, what kind of card did you use? The advice is to perform this with an SD card no larger than 32GB.

    Thanks Hans

The power converters showing the blue flash I think it was when it was on.

Was normal as was first thing I checked.

I will try a smaller SD card, it was “deleting” the file off the card, i was using the EVO one I got with it, think its 512?

Got it along with the camera from Innovv site.

It does the exact same thing to the letter without a card in it, tried it by accident when doing the firmware thing

      Hi Alan,
I suspect there is something wrong with the power supply.
The blue LED should light up continuously blue when the voltage is correct. If the voltage drops too low (to use parking mode), it will start flashing blue. A blue flash indicates that there is a voltage problem.
You can power the K5 with a USB power bank. Make sure it can supply enough power, 2A. First, disconnect the power converter from the K5 and only then connect the power bank.
This way, you can rule out whether the problem is caused by the power supply.

    Thanks Hans,

Yeah same issue tried 2 power banks and a laptop.

    Symptoms are identical.

I have not had time this week to dig in deep, going to have a good look on saturday at this and work my way up from the power and check all the cables where I can.

Also looking for a smaller memory card just incase

      Hi Alan,
I am curious to see what comes out of it.
      Good luck.

I can remember that I had a similar issue on an early version of the K5. After enabling the parking mode, the K5 stayed in that mode, even with ignition on. As a result, the K5 started, recorded a short 20 sec video and went back to sleep. Just to repeat this again after a minute or so.

Do you have the parking mode enabled? If yes, please check the behaviour after switching it off.

    Does sound very similar.

I did have it on before I did a reset on the device and the firmware uploads.

Will keep that in mind when I get the chance to look again

I just remembered, I had tried the 2 wifi variations and they worked, so firmware flashes obviously take.
