Hi ,new member here who knows absolutely nothing about technology so be gentle.

After ive set my innovv k6 up via the app and my home Internet using the usb lead and my mobile phone then disconnected and unplugged it do I then simply mount the cameras, connect the power red black ,yellow as described in the instructions, will it then start recording when the ignition is on and stop when off ? I bought this solely for recording any insurance incidents only not to keep a record of my trips out, basically ive put a 128gb card in and will just let it run and write over previous footage ,sorry if I sound dumb but im a dinosaur when it comes to technology

Thanks in advance for any help/ suggestions ,have a great day and ride safe

    Hi David

Yes, just connect as per instructions.

Red and Black to battery or other permanent power supply. Yellow to switched power source.

Camera should start recording a few seconds after ignition is switched on, and stop a few seconds after ignition is switched off.

You do indeed need to connect the cables as stated in the manual.
The camera switches on automatically when you turn on the ignition and switches off again when you turn off the ignition. Switching off the K6 can take approximately 25 seconds.
If you have set loop recording, the K6 will automatically overwrite the oldest recording to make room for a new recording when the SD card is full.

Thankyou for the reply Hans ,one more quick question once the camera has been set up via my house live box WiFi what time out should the WiFi be set at ? I assume it searches for a signal then stops looking unless it’s set to ‘on’ then it carries on searching ,I was thinking the lowest for the road but ‘on’ if I need to watch or download at home

TIA couerdelion ,have a great day

You will probably find downloading videos a bit slow over WiFi, and better to remove card and copy files on PC.

Therefore, you only use the WiFi for changing settings on K6.

3 mins is probably long enough to do this.

If you read the SD card using a computer, it is advisable to format it using the app after placing the SD card back into the K6. It can sometimes happen that an SD card read on a computer is no longer properly recognized by the camera.

    Downloading via Wi-Fi:
The camera will never connect to a Wi-Fi network itself. The camera acts as a network itself (Wi-Fi hotspot). You must also ensure that the camera remains on during the download. The motorcycle’s ignition must therefore remain on for the entire duration.

If you want to download a single (few) file, you can do so via Wi-Fi to your phone. If you are going to download many/larger files, read the SD card on your computer. The K6’s built-in Wi-Fi is actually too slow to download many/large files.

Thanks for the informative reply Hans, unless I capture a heard of wild wilderbeasts wandering majestically across the road on a ride out the footage wont be viewed, if I do however need to veiw id take the card out and use the computer and as suggested by yourself use the app to set it back up .

Thanks again for all your help have a great day Regards from France Couerdelion
