Iv just installed the k7 and having problems recording the sd card is a samsunge u3 very fast write speed. It was writing the videos at the start but then the video light flashed slowly and was writing to the protected folder the G senor is only on 2, when I tried to view the videos some of the files were there but with no image/thumbnail and could not be played or downloaded I have no idea why it’s only working on some files but not others.

    Hi Dean,
The G-sensor setting only affects the sensitivity of the accident recordings. It has no effect on parking mode.
The button on the remote control might not be working properly. This button allows you to record protected videos. Check that the button isn’t stuck. Also check the wiring for damage and the connectors for proper connection and moisture.
Viewing directly from the camera takes time. If a lot of recordings have been made, it will take a while to download the previews. Furthermore, the quality of the Wi-Fi connection affects how quickly/easily the videos can be viewed.
Have you formatted the SD card using the Innovv app?
Is the Wi-Fi connection working properly while viewing the videos from the camera?
Are you using an Android or an iPhone?
To be sure, you can also reflash the firmware.
If you have more information about what you’ve already tried, please let us know.

    Just one more comment.

Thank you all replies I have sorted a new sd card which is working fine I have also added padding to unit so it’s now not writing to protected file.

I’m having the same issues. I just had the K7 Duel-2K Dashcam installed on both my bikes at my local HD dealership and neither will record to the microSD card. I’ve already updated the firmware for the 512gb microSD card but I got nothing. Also, is there any way to access any of the videos on the cams without turning on the motorcycle? Any suggestions?

      Hi Dennis,
Do you have more info? For example, what have you already tried yourself? Are you testing with one SD card on both motors, or do you have the same problem with two SD cards? Does the SD card meet the specs set by Innovv, and so on and so forth.

In short, the more info, the better we can help you.

    Hans,

I’m using two different Sandisk ImageMate Pro microSDXC UHS-I Cards rated for speeds up to 250 MB/s**Read, 170MB/s**Write, A2, U3, V30.

I have tried formatting both cards while in the camera.

I’ve downloaded and copied the firmware from the INNOVV website for the K7 cam with 256/512GB cards.

I’m having the same problem in with both K7 cams on both bikes with both cards.

I was also curious how to access the video content of the cameras without turning on the bike. For example, if the bike was involved in an accident (which has not happened) and you were unable to turn on or start the bike, how would you access the content on the camera, especially at this point since I can’t seem to record anything to the cards?

    Thanks!

      Hi Dennis,
When you are in the app, can you see the live footage from the cameras? What do the LEDs on the remote control indicate: blinking, constantly lit, or not lit at all?
If you read the SD cards in a computer, are they really completely empty? Or is a folder structure still being created?
It would be a huge coincidence if 2 K7s were giving the same problem at the same time. I am therefore leaning more towards a problem with the installation of the K7 on your motorcycles.

Reading the video footage when the engine is off is only possible by removing the SD card from the K7 and reading it in a computer. The video footage is only stored on the SD card; the K7 has no internal memory for storage.
Another option would be that if the engine won’t start anymore (ignition won’t turn on), you disconnect the yellow wire and connect it to the positive terminal of the battery. That way, you can still start the K7.

    Hello Hans,

I think I have figured some of it out, it was just not what I thought. I was thinking I could access the video/image files on the SD card via the camera, which I now know is not an option. I would have to either download the files to my phone (Local) or remove the SD card to view the files without the power being applied to the camera. The instructions weren’t very detailed or clear with regards to the operation of the camera but I think I have it figured out now. The questions you asked pointed me in the right direction to figure it out and I appreciate it. Thank you!

      Hi Dennis,
access the video/image files on the SD card via the camera‘ isn’t this via the Wi-Fi/app connection? Or do you mean another way of connecting to the K7?
For most Innovv dashcams, there are only a few options for downloading the files:

      • Using the Innovv app
      • SD card in computer
      • Connect computer to Innovv Wi-Fi and then download files via web browser (don’t know if this works on the K7 as well)
      • Connect computer to the camera via USB connection (is there one on the K7?)

I am having similar problems, got the SD card (Samsung 512GB EVO Plus UHS-I microSDXC Memory) supplied with the K7. Was working OK, then took it out to view on Windows 11, but its not worked since. I have tried formatting in the device, but it wont work. Its only been in the bike for two months. I can get other cards to work, but the 512 wont work in the K7, formatting in the K7 gives an error. The card remains with its contents intact as it still has the video clips from first use. I hasn’t been recording to SD for the last two rides, only discovered when I went to check after a car pulled out on me. I have the latest firmware as of this weekend.

      Hi Nic,
The K7 is compatible with 512GB SD cards, so the problem is not with the size of the SD card.
By ‘formatting in the device’, I assume you mean the K7. When you put the SD card back in, is it seated correctly in the slot? Since other cards do function in the K7, you can assume that the SD card in question has become defective.
You could perhaps look for a program that performs a deeper format on the SD card and might be able to repair it. However, I personally wouldn’t trust the SD card anymore.

Hello Hans, thanks for the reply.

The 512 card was inserted properly, I put it in and out a few times, and other SD cards worked each time, but this one does not work in the K7. Its in my PC at the moment and works fine. I have a 256GB card in from a Garmin camera and that works OK.

Do you have any idea what the warranty on SD cards might be from Innovv? I bought the unit before Christmas, but due to a family bereavement, it didn’t get on to the bike until March. There are two dates of recordings on and then it started having issues.

          HI Nic,
I cannot find out on the Innovv site which warranty specifically applies to SD cards.
The screenshot below is from the Innovv website. You can contact Innovv to inquire about the warranty they offer on the SD cards they supply.

            Thanks Hans,

The card works fine in the other devices, so Im assuming its undocumented feature in the K7 and larger cards, for now, we are outside the 3 month warranty, and as it came direct from Innovv sending it back will be time consuming, The replacement card for the Garmin is being collected today so we are all good for now.
