K7 Reboot Loop

Hi Dan,

Have you already tried flashing the firmware again?
It is also possible that the button on the remote control is jammed, causing it to be pressed continuously. This can also cause a reboot.
Can you also measure the power supply voltage to see if it is correct? A power supply voltage that is too low can also cause a camera to get stuck in a startup loop.

Thanks for your fast reply and help!

I have checked the remote button and it seems fine—it clicks normally when I press it. I tried holding it down, but the camera light still just comes on for around 30 seconds and then reboots.

I also checked the power supply voltage, and it is completely stable between 12.50V and 12.80V. I checked the 1A inline fuse as well, which is perfectly fine. I even tried plugging just the cameras directly to the battery, but sadly, the exact same issue occurs.

I haven’t tried flashing the firmware yet, as everything was working completely fine until this boot loop started.

I’m not sure if you saw my previous message which I posted in a new thread when I couldn’t reply, but here it is again in case you missed it:

For some reason I can’t reply to your post, hence the new thread about your problem.
I recently had an issue where one of my cameras failed and the K7 would stop recording after a minute or so. During the fault finding process I would reset the K7 by pressing the button on the remote for about 10 seconds until all the lights would cycle on/off then go off completely. The following day I found I had symptoms very similar to what you are having. I eventually found that the button on the remote had stuck in, causing it to continuously reset. Fiddling with it released it and everything was back to normal. INNOVV replaced both the remote and the faulty front camera under warranty.
It could be that either the button on your remote is stuck in, or a fault has developed shorting it out. Try playing with the button to see if it stops the cycling. Failing this, I think you can run the unit with the remote disconnected. Give this a try and using your phone check the K7 is recording normally.

Since I posted the above, I note you said you tried unplugging everything, did this include unplugging the remote?
It does sound like the K7 is continuously rebooting.

Hello

Thank you very much for going out of your way to reply. I have looked at the button and it seems to be ok. It clicks when I press it, so I guess it isn’t stuck. I will try to run the unit without the button connected and see if that does anything. These are only a few months old but sadly i didn’t think to ask the shop who installed them for the box back that I put the receipt in just my luck.
