    Hi all,

Im now a couple of years into owing a k7 and still cannot get the cameras to work or get past the slow flashing green light.

I have tried absolutley everything from completely dismantling & re fitting the entire product and tried numerous sd cards including all the top rated higj speed u3 cards… all to no avail.

Am at a total loss now…

    Thanks….

    Hi Tony,
Can you provide more information about what exactly you’ve tried?
How quickly does the green LED flash? Depending on how quickly and how often it flashes, it might give you an indication of what the problem might be.
Have you tried reflashing the firmware?
Can you format the SD card with the app?
When you read an SD card with a computer, does it show anything at all?
Is there any more information available?

    Morning hans,

Yhe green light flashes slowly all the time, probably at the rate of 1 per 2 seconds.

I have re flashed the firmware several times using correctly formatted cards.

I have formatted the cards using the app, a laptop & my phone.

I have used several different high quality, high speed cards.

All wiring has been re installed with connections all secure

    Hi Tony,
Can you disconnect the components (cameras, GPS module, etc.) one by one to see if any of them have failed and are causing the K7 to malfunction? Make sure to leave at least one camera connected.
Is the power supply connected properly? The yellow switched power supply is connected. And the red and black are continuous power.
Can you also measure the supply voltage?

    Hi again.

As part of my fault finding i isolated each component one by one with no change.

Perm live & switched live are wired correctly & showing >12.4v at idle and 13.8v fast idle.

    Thanks again,

    Tony

When you read an SD card with a computer, does it show anything (any video recording) at all?
What settings have you configured with the app?

    Hi Tony,
…a couple of years into owning a K7 and still can’t get the cameras to work…
Has the K7 worked fine before? If so, can you find out what happened when the K7 stopped working?

@INNOVV do you have any tips for this problem?

    Hi,

Right at the begining of ownership it intermittantly worked for a few minutes a couple of times but has never worked since.

    Thanks

If it were me, I’d pull the whole unit out of the bike and power it from a reliable 12V supply (e.g. car battery or high quality benchtop power supply). If it doesn’t work there it’s clearly faulty.

FTR, I have had issues with my K7 not working but have had the fewest issues when using a 128GB Sandisk Max Endurance SDCard. I believe the NVR is still crashing on hot days (>35C), but as we head into the Australian autumn that’s becoming less of a problem.

      In other words, I’d check: 1) top-shelf dashcam-rated SDCard, 2) temperature.
