    HI All

I recently changed over to the K7 from the K2 and have not managed to get a consistent recording yet. I am running a fast SD card at 512gb as specified in the manual but I have gaps in the recordings and when linking the files the one video ends and then there’s a huge gap to the next one. The longest gap was over an hour. Any ideas? I have raised it with support but have had no response. I am also due to go on a once in a lifetime trip through the Austrian Alps in just over 3 weeks and cant afford for this not to be working.

    Hi Stuart,
Do you remember if the LEDs on the remote control were on the entire ride?
Missing recordings can be caused by various reasons:

    • Problems with the SD card. A new SD card can also become defective. Did you format the SD card using the Innovv app?
    • Problems with the power supply. Think of a loose connector. Switched power supply that fails, too low supply voltage, etc.
    • Incorrect settings of the g-sensor. Are the missing recordings not in the ‘Accident Videos’ folder?
    • Connectors that are not properly tightened or have moisture in them.

Can you see what happens at the end of the last video just before the video stops? Perhaps this gives a clue as to what could be the cause of the failure

      Thanks for your response.

I have tried all these before and have also rechecked after you suggested.

I have changed the SD card and the same keeps happening.

On the footage there is not obvious reason for the camera to stop recording; the footage shows me riding down a long country lane then nothing until after I start the bike again after a drink break.

I’m lost as to the root cause, any other ideas?

    Hi Stuart,
Does the recording stop on both the front and rear camera? You can disconnect a camera to see if the problem persists. That way you can see if one of the cameras is causing the problem.
With a long country road I think of bumps and vibrations. Could it be that the SD card moves in the slot due to the vibration? I once had with my K2 that I had an SD card that was slightly thinner, which meant that the contact was not always good. And the fact that the K7 works again after a long break makes me think about a temperature problem. Does the DVR unit have enough cooling? The cameras may become fairly warm to the touch during use, but not hot.

    Hi all

I’m suffering from the same thing with my K7, I’ve changed the SD card from 512gb to 256gb. I’ve reset the system a couple of times but nothing has solved the problems.

I was interested to read about the DVR getting hot, mine is under my seat but gets hot 🔥, where do others put theirs?

Thanks in advance for your help

      Hi Karel,
The DVR can get warm, but it should not get hot.
Does the SD card meet the minimum specifications that Innovv sets? What have you tried yourself? Just a reset? Or also formatted the SD card using the Innovv app?
Do you perhaps have more information?

The SD cards (I have a couple) meet the spec and I have formatted them both via the innovv app and computer. The SD card is secure within the DVR.

As for the DVR it’s under my seat but it gets hot 🥵 and not just warm. Would it be useful to move it elsewhere and if so where?

I would get a limited amount of footage recorded but while it’s clear it may be 30secs and then nothing for hours, not much use as a dash cam and useless for social media.

      Hi Karl,
It is recommended to only format the SD card with the Innovv app. If you format the SD card with a computer, this can sometimes cause the Innovv camera to no longer handle the SD card properly.
The DVR getting hot is not good. Try mounting it in a different place where it can get more cooling. The housing of the DVR also functions as a heat sink, so if cool air can flow past it, this is recommended.
Using the ‘live view’ in the app, can you see that both cameras are working?
To rule out that one of the components is causing problems, you can, for example, disconnect a camera and then see what happens. If nothing changes, reconnect the camera and disconnect the other camera. You can also do this with the other components. This way you can rule out whether a component is defective.

I’ve made a simple change, I moved the DVR box further back under the seat and it’s been a success 😁. It allows more air & therefore a cooler 👍

          Hi Karl,
Good to hear that a simple adjustment solved the heat problem.
          Enjoy your K7!

I normally format SD card via the app but have done it on the computer to check if it was the issue, it wasn’t. I’ve checked the the cameras and they are working both separately and together. I’ll move the DVR to see if that works.

Failing that it’ll go in the bin 😡

I have a similar problem. According to the LED on the control panel, the entire unit restarts. The problem only occurs when the SD card is full. After formatting the SD card, everything works as it should. The problem will probably be at the moment when the recordings are supposed to start being overwritten. I can tell by the fact that the WIFI LED is flashing, which should turn off after the first 5 minutes according to my settings.

Well, today I found out that sometimes 1-2 minutes of recordings are missing, which are not saved anywhere. I tried installing the latest software, which I thought would fix the problem as described, but it still seems to crash occasionally. (As a temporary solution, I copied the contents of the card to my PC today and formatted the SD card)

    SD card:
    Samsung 512GB EVO Plus microSDXC A2 V30
    Firmware: 20241016.V04

      HI Tomáš,
When the SD card is full, the oldest recordings should be automatically deleted on a FIFO (first-in-first-out) basis. This only works if the ‘Loop Recording Duration’ is set. If this is not set, the recording will stop when the SD card is full. The Wifi LED has no meaning when it comes to recordings. Only the camera LED indicates the status of the recording.

Formatting the SD card with a computer is not recommended. An SD card formatted by a computer is sometimes not processed properly by the Innovv camera. This can cause missing recordings and the K7 to restart. Therefore, always only format using the Innovv app.

For updating, watch this video. Video is about the K5 but the update procedure is the same for the K7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGvg1051gPI
The update is best performed with an SD card with a size of between 8 and 32Gb.

I tried to format the SD card with the app as recommended and now when the card is full again it happens again. I’m not sure we got it right, so I’ll try to describe my problem better.

        1. I start the bike and the camera is on, loop recording normally works. (GPS-orange, REC-green and after five minutes the wifi is automatically switched off)
        2. Now I’ve been paying more attention to it and while driving I noticed that all the lights are off and then the REC starts flashing green and later the GPS light comes on and the WIFI light is flashing again.

So from this I’m guessing that the unit has rebooted. And after that the recording it’s running again for some time. This only happens if the SD card is full, until then everything works as it should. I also send a screenshot from the directories where the videos are stored and you can see that 2 minutes of the recording is missing (I can also send the videos themselves to a private email, where you can see that I am driving and suddenly I am in front of the garage ). The second picture is as proof that the accident was not recorded, it was 10 min. earlier. I also include a screenshot of the settings, if I have everything right 😀.

Of course, as workaroung I can format the SD card and then everything will go back to normal. But it’s quite annoying to check if the card is already full ,because I’ve already had one moment where the camera didn’t work when I needed it. Luckily, nothing happened, so this footage would only serve as proof of what an ***** the driver was.

          Hi Tomáš,
I suspect a bug has gotten into the firmware. Could you try a different Loop Recording Duration?
You could try a reset from the app. And if you really want to perform a hard reset, reinstall the firmware.

I have the very same problem with my month old K7, I have tried all the usual stuff but every time I use my bike I find that there is usually an hours recording missing. Plus this thing gets so hot, I thought my GoPro 10 got hot but the K7 beats it easily. Can’t fault the picture quality. If this problem persists I will have to return as not fit for purpose..

      Hi Ken,
The K7 can get (fairly) warm to the touch, but not hot.
Is the DVR fully integrated, or can airflow be circulated around it for cooling? The DVR’s casing also functions as a heat sink, so the generated heat needs to be able to dissipate properly.

<div>i was having the same issue on my newly installed K7 until i mounted it on some sponge to reduce any shock being transferred from bumps in the road, it resolved the issue. </div>

From my point of view, removing the vibration does not solve my problem, because when checking the recording from this weekend, I have the entire offroad part recorded and the problem appeared when driving on a smooth road. I changed the time to 3 min for the loopback recording, which helped and from the entire 9h ride I am only missing 4 minutes = the unit restarted only 2 times. And if I format the entire SD card and everything works without problems, then this also indicates that the vibrations are not my problem.

Today I noticed that a new firmware version 20250317.V05 is available. So let’s go test if anything has changed 🙂

As for the temperature, I have the DVR unit under my seat and even on hot days when it is around 31°C outside I am able to keep my hand on the DVR unit, so I have no problem with the temperature (it will be at most 40°C, which I do not consider a problem)
