    N2 1.7 firmware update

    Posted by cr0100 on 2026-06-27 at 00:40

I can’t get the N2 to recognize that there is an IMG file which is a firmware update on the card.

Instructions say to power up, then insert a card with “ltmotor-emmc-20260618-1440×720-n5-rtl8733bs-release-a9128b6d31d44b2239a8b66311e84469.img” in the ROOT folder.

So I put the TF card in, let it format, take it out, copy the IMG file to it, put it back in and… nothing happens.

I’ll note that the firmware update instructions describe the file as having a different name than what is actually downloaded. The instructions say the filename is “ltmotor-emmc-20250912-1440×720-n5-rtl8733bs-release-638530c40cb850e1c077d2f049fd1ebc.img” which, judging by the date string near the beginning of the name, is an older update file.

    Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I remembered how to do the OTA update, and I’m up to v1.7 now.

NEW problem: The option to toggle the flashing LEDs no longer works. I can go to the settings page, and easily flip the settings between MPH/KPH, and also I can turn the “Rest Reminder” on and off, but the “LED” setting does absolutely NOT work anymore.

      Hi Charles,
Is the touchscreen not damaged at the switch location?
Perhaps you could test this spot on the touchscreen with a different setting/function on the N2?

Screen is not damaged, trust me. Works just fine in carplay to select icons and is generally functional. It’s only this button which no longer works.

I’ve already opened a ticket with support. They’ve responded and are looking into it.

          Hi Charles,
I am curious about the solution. If it works, let me know.
We, as other forum members, can learn from this as well.

I’ve opened a ticket with support (11 days ago) and they said they’re looking into it, so I guess now we just wait!
