Considering it has the same exact specs in every way, with the only difference being the quick release, I would say they are the same exact unit and capable of running the same U I.

If I am wrong, please correct me with the different specs. It’s my understanding they use the same processor the same screen with the same brightness everything identical with the only difference being the quick release. Sounds like INNOVV trying to justify a $300 price increase without actually doing any work.

Hi Jim,

I understand why it may look similar from the outside, but N2 and N3 are not simply the same unit with a quick-release added.

While some hardware components are similar, the N3 uses a different system architecture, a different PCB design, a different mounting/power management structure, and a different firmware framework. The software is not interchangeable between the two products, so N2 hardware cannot be upgraded to N3 firmware.

The quick-release mechanism itself also required major redesign work in both hardware and software to ensure stable power connection, waterproofing, vibration resistance, and reliable operation on motorcycles.

In addition, N3 includes updated system optimization and future expansion support, which are not available on N2 hardware.

We understand pricing is always an important topic, but the price difference is not simply for the mount itself. It reflects the redesign, manufacturing cost, tooling, development, and updated platform structure behind the product.

In a similar vein… are the cameras/sensors/power connections for the N3 cradle compatible with the N2 device connections? What I mean to say is: If I got the N3 with cradle, would I be able to disconnect the power/GPS/front/rear cameras from the N2, and hook them up to the N3 cradle? If so, that could be an attractive and simple way to upgrade.

In that way, yes, you can use N2 camera/gps/tmps on N3. At the meantime, you need to order the N3 quick-release base- BMW.
