Hi William,
I assume you mean that the K7’s Wi-Fi connection turns off, and not that the K7 shuts down completely.
Your phone can only establish a Wi-Fi (hotspot) connection with one device at a time. The K7 wants to connect to your phone via Wi-Fi while simultaneously connecting to Android Auto, which is not possible. What is happening in your case is that the device that is the last to try to connect to your phone via Wi-Fi disconnects the existing Wi-Fi connection with the other device. You only need the Wi-Fi connection to your K7 if you want to adjust settings or watch videos. Otherwise, the K7 does not need a Wi-Fi connection. The K7 records video even without a Wi-Fi connection. So, you can configure your phone so that it does not automatically connect to the K7. This way, Android Auto effectively takes priority over the Wi-Fi connection.
If you want to change settings on the K7 or watch videos, you must establish the Wi-Fi connection manually.
You can also set the K7’s Wi-Fi time to a shorter duration. After this set time, the K7’s Wi-Fi will turn off automatically and will therefore no longer disconnect the Wi-Fi connection with your Android Auto.
