Hello Innovv and anyone that can help – I did contact support about my first K7 order about 5 months ago but it never worked – no light no nothing. I removed the installed unit and remote and powered it on a bench – nothing came alive. The support person said to mail it back and it would be fixed free of charge. But because I’m out of a camera system I ordered another new K7 to just get a new DVR and remote to use until the other is fixed. But low and behold this new one does not work either. all the lights come on the wifi light is on and flashing but I cannot see a wifi signal and have tried multiple iphones and a ipad – three devices plus a laptop and none see a Innovv_ wifi. So at this point I either want my money back or a different camera system model – as two separate ones do not function. I have two other bikes with K5 units and they work perfectly with all iphones and can see their respective wifi’s even with the ipad. The K7 will not function – please advise on next steps because I’m at the point of getting my credit card company involved to refund my money for the non-working units.

    Hi Simon,
Unfortunately, iPhones sometimes have trouble connecting to Innovv cameras. Putting the iPhone in airplane mode and then manually establishing a Wi-Fi connection can sometimes help. Because the K5 uses a different system than the K7, it is possible that the K5 works while the K7 does not in combination with your Apple equipment.

Do you have no possibility to test with an Android device? This is to determine whether the problem lies with the K7 or the iPhone.

PS, which customer service did you contact?

I contacted Innovv support directly. I had a case number and tech by the name of Frank. His only offer was for me to ship the device back to China and essentially hope it didn’t get lost along the way as he wanted me to lie on the customs form saying it should be listed as a “cup” not a device needing repair or replacement. The other thing, while I could set one of my iPhones to airplane mode how do I identify the SSID as it would have to match identically to manually enter to setup a manual connection – I need it perfect else it will just ignore the connection. I’m still unable to find an Innovv SSID even with a network sniffer running on a windows pc – that should show the SSID if the K7 units were working correctly – which I don’t believe they are. The two K5 units show their SSIDs in all cases – iPhones, iPad and Windows PC. This is maddening and disappointing.

    Hi Simon,

I’ve just come across your post and I’m having an incredibly similar situation with the K7.

My original K7 was working perfectly until it developed a fault where the DVR now goes into a continuous reboot loop roughly every 30 seconds. I’ve tested the power supply, ACC and components individually, including bench testing, but the problem remains.

In the end I decided to simply buy another K7 DVR directly from INNOVV because technical support seemed to keep going around in circles rather than actually identifying the fault.

Now, incredibly, the brand-new replacement DVR has its own issue. On the bench it powers up and stays running, and the blue Wi-Fi indicator flashes rapidly as though Wi-Fi is active, but there is absolutely no K7/INNOVV SSID being broadcast. I’ve checked with both my Android phone and a separate tablet and and 8 other devices neither can see it.

Your post immediately caught my attention because your description of the replacement unit lights working and Wi-Fi flashing but no detectable SSID sounds almost identical.

I’ve deliberately avoided flashing the firmware on this brand-new DVR. I’m concerned about getting into a situation where support repeatedly suggests firmware flashing and then a failed or problematic flash becomes another possible explanation for the fault. A brand-new unit supplied directly by INNOVV should perform its basic functions out of the box.

Did you ever get any further with yours or receive a proper explanation from INNOVV? It would be very useful to compare what we’re both experiencing, particularly as this now appears to have happened to more than one recently supplied K7.

    Hi Simon, Dan,

If you read the SD card in a computer, can you see if recordings are actually being made? From both the front and rear cameras?

It is possible that if one of the cameras is defective or not connected properly, the K7 cannot boot up properly. Consequently, no K7 Wi-Fi is visible. You could then swap the working camera with the defective one and see if the K7 boots up properly then.

So, the fact that the K7 cannot boot up does not necessarily have to be due to the DVR, but could also be due to a camera.
