I’m having issues with the parking mode on my K7. I’ve wired the power cables to the appropriate battery terminals, and I’ve spliced the yellow wire with the licence plate light. Battery voltage is at 12.98V when my Yamaha is turned off. I’ve turned the G Sensor sensitivity to its highest (5 bars) in the Innovv app. But moving or forcibly shoving (like a car impact) my motorcycle does not trigger a parking mode recording.

If I take the seat off and physically push the DVR, then yes, parking mode does activate so I assume I’ve wired everything correctly. I repositioned the DVR to see if it would help, but it didn’t seem to do so.

I’m not sure what else I can do to make parking mode work as it’s supposed to.

Unless you connect to your Accessory wire, it won’t work

It gets power all the time from the battery wire but it only knows you turned off if the Accessory power dies.

How did you decide to connect to a light instead of accessory?

I think, Your mileage may vary. Thinking about it, your license plate light is only on with the lights, correct?

That may mean it’s not aware you are riding unless your lights are on.

Are you getting video clips while riding in daytime with lights off?

Hans will know for sure. He’s asleep so you got me.

Insofar as I know, the licence plate light functions as an accessory wire on my motorcycle: supplies power when the ignition is turned to ON, and shuts off when the ignition is set to OFF. The licence plate light does not have a separate on/off switch, nor is it wired with the headlight or aux lights. In my tests, my K7 turns on and off with the ignition, and records without issue when riding so no problems there.

As I mentioned, the parking mode works when I physically poke the DVR itself, which I assume triggers the G-Sensor. But for some reason, if I were to move the motorcycle as a whole (e.g. with a forcible shove) parking mode won’t activate. I’ve turned the G-Sensor sensitivity to its highest setting in the app, but it doesn’t seem to do much.

I’ve done some more testing to see what triggers a parking mode recording:

What doesn’t work: sitting on the seat, shoving the motorcycle from the sides, grabbing the handlebar and rocking the motorcycle side to side, moving the motorcycle backwards and forwards.

What does work: a solid, hard knock with the a clenched fist on most of the frame near the battery compartment (e.g. passenger footrest bracket) where the DVR is located.

This is at the highest G-Sensor level with the latest firmware (IK7.2040705.V3) and latest Android app (1.0.28.20241014) on a Pixel 7 (Android 14).

From my testing, I assume that most impacts from cars would trigger a parking mode recording. However, it seems to be me that parking mode is otherwise quite insensitive, especially if it can’t detect the motorcycle being forcibly rocked side to side.

I get the same results, I will call Innovv tonight and report back.

Innovv confirms the design was to detect large shocks, like the bike falling over.

The problem is that rough road shocks trigger too easily and cause unnecessary saved videos.

    Hi David,
The sensitivity of the parking mode cannot be set. The G-sensor setting in the app only affects the sensitivity of the accident videos.
The g-sensor is only sensitive to short hard taps. Pushing against the engine is a ‘slow’ movement that the sensor will not or poorly respond to.
My experience with the g-sensor is also that it is not equally sensitive in all directions. So it is a matter of trying out what the best place for the dvr is.

Is it possible to make separate sensitivity settings of G-sensor for parking and for accident?

If i change sensitive G-sensor to right or left, that in parking mode, G-sensor absolutely don’t work!

In another topic i already wrote – manuals is bad, the main functionality are not described!

      Hi Alexander,
The sensitivity of the parking mode is not adjustable.
The G-sensor settings are only to adjust the sensitivity of accident videos.

Please, tell the developers: change for g-sensor, write: “The sensitivity of g-sensor for accident”

        And describe in the manual!

And disable cartoon in begin of start application. Tired!

Question: how long recorded in parking mode, after triggering g-sensors?

    Hi Alexander,
The length of the parking mode is equal to the length of the set loop.
Well, the cartoon. Look how many programs start with a ‘cartoon’. This also gives the program time to start.
If you have more comments about the app, manuals and software. You can better mail these directly to Innovv. Innovv does not always look at the forum and therefore does not always read all comments.

I was sure, that the developers regularly read the forum…. this determined if choice of the manufacturer. OK, thanks for the hint, i’l write to e-mail.
