RC6 front camera is blinking red
Posted by Arnon on 2026-02-26 at 22:56Hello,
I have an issue with a new installation of RC6 on my motorcycle.
After I turn the motorcycle off the front camera is blinking red. This is strange since it should NOT get any power at all at this point.
After that, if I dont disconnect (from the battery) the red cable, the controller starts to buzz and drain the whole battery out.
Is there an explanation of this?
I can send a movie showing this issue.
Its extra frustrating since the product is new.
Thx for any help

Hi Arnon,
The red flashing can have different meanings; see the manual.
Did you format the SD card with the Innov app?
Can you use a multimeter to measure whether the yellow wire actually becomes de-energized? Or can you physically disconnect it? Then see what happens.
When the yellow wire becomes de-energized, it takes a moment (about 25 seconds) for the RC6 to shut down. This is to properly end an ongoing video recording. So, the RC6 doesn’t shut down immediately when the ignition is turned off.
Did you connect the red and black wires directly to the battery? Or are you using a Thunderbox, EZcan, or a similar solution? -
Hi Hans
Thank you for the response. below are my answers:
Did you format the SD card with the Innov app?
Answer> Yes the SD is format and working properly.

Hi Hans,
I was able to isolate the problem.
When I turn off the bike, the red light does NOT stop blinking after 30 sec.
Then (after 2-3 min) the main unit start vibrating and short bips are constantly occurring until it drains the whole battery.
Any ideas?
Thx

Hi Arnon,
Have you connected the power supply correctly? Red and black wires to continuous power, preferably connected directly to the battery. And the yellow wire to a switched power supply? Does this yellow wire lose voltage when the ignition is turned off?
Does the RC6 function properly otherwise? So, does it detect approaching traffic and record videos correctly?
The main unit starts vibrating…. As far as I know, there is no vibration function in the main unit. So what is vibrating then?
Can you re-flash the firmware?-
Hi Hanse

Does this yellow wire lose voltage when the ignition is turned off?
Does the RC6 function properly otherwise? So, does it detect approaching traffic and record videos correctly?AB> Yes its works properly during a normal ride

Can you re-flash the firmware?AB> Yes I can and will do that

Hi Hans,
I was able to debug the issue.
The unit is NOT shutting off AT ALL after the bike is turned off.
The video keeps recording and both cameras are getting hotter.
Also, The front camera LED is still slightly green.
As you recall the connection is directly to the Battery.
P.S I’ve also upgraded the firmware
Any suggestions?
Thx

Hi Arnon,
I assume that you connected the power supply yourself and that this was done correctly. If it was connected by someone else, please check (with a multimeter) if the yellow wire loses voltage when the ignition is turned off. I am starting to suspect that there is something wrong with the power supply, particularly regarding the yellow wire.To rule out whether one of the RC6 components is defective and thus causing the malfunction, you can disconnect the component one by one and then check if the camera functions correctly and switches on/off via the ignition.
Additionally, you can perform a master reset by re-flashing the firmware.
