Rear Camera INNOVV K5 HS
Posted by laurimi2 on 2025-07-07 at 21:55Hello,
Sorry to ask for help
I went on a 10-day road trip and the rear camera worked fine because I had MP4 files for the first 3 days, then nothing from the rear camera.
The files weren’t overwritten when the card was full (256GB Sandisk Extreme 256GB V30 3 A1).
When I tried to reformat my SD card with my PC and then with the INNOVV app, I realized that the rear camera was no longer working.
I can no longer view it in the INNOVV app and no more MP4 files.
The front camera works fine.
First test: remove the SD card and see if the rear camera works (not OK).
I tried unplugging all the connectors and then plugging them back in (not OK).
It’s a shame it’s not possible to swap the front and rear cameras to check if it’s the cable or the camera.
Can you tell me if I should run any other tests?
Front camera OK
GPS OK
Microphone OK
Rear camera not OK
I noticed that when I change the settings through the INNOVV app (e.g., switching from TS to MP4), etc., when I turn off the motorcycle’s engine and then restart it, the settings revert to the original settings (it didn’t keep MP4 but reverted to TS).
I tested with the old and new 5G firmware
Do you have a solution?
Do you have detailed information on each setting in the INNOVV app (ex :Gravity accelerator), what it is, etc.
I ordered a new rear camera, hoping it’s the camera that’s broken.
Thank you in advance for your help, and sorry for my English.
Have a nice day from France.

Hi Michel,
Overwriting the oldest recordings only happens if the ‘Loop Recording’ setting is set correctly.
How did you connect the power of the K5? And where/how did you connect the yellow wire?
When the ignition is off, does the blue LED on the power module light up or flash? When the ignition is on but the engine has not started yet, what does the LED indicate? And when the engine is running, what then?
Was the cable of the rear camera not too tight? A cable that is too tight can break due to the vibrations of the engine. Was there also no moisture in the connector of the rear camera? Is the rubber sealing ring still present in the connector? -
Hello Hans,
Thank you for your quick response.
The oldest recordings are only overwritten if the “Loop Recording” setting is correctly configured.
What should I set in “Loop Recording”? How long? 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, or 10 minutes? How did you connect the K5’s power supply?
On an EZCAN
And where/how did you connect the yellow wire?
On an EZCAN
With the ignition off, does the blue LED on the power module light up or flash?
LED: Solid blue
With the ignition on, but the engine hasn’t started, what does the LED indicate?
LED: Flashing blue
With the engine running, what’s going on?
No rearview camera and no files for the rearview camera, the rest works fine.
Was the rearview camera cable too tight?
No
An overly tight cable can break due to engine vibration.
Was there moisture in the rearview camera connector?
No, everything is perfectly dry.
Is the rubber gasket still present in the connector?
Yes
Regarding the remote control:
Camera symbol: Solid green
GPS symbol: Solid orange
Wi-Fi symbol: Flashing blue
The system has been working since January 2021 without any issues.
Thank you for your responsiveness.
Have a good day

Hi Michel,
I don’t have my K5 nearby, so I can’t check which setting I have for Loop recording. But I thought I set it to 3 minutes.
With everything connected to the EZCAN, does it now happen that when you turn off the ignition, the K5 immediately turns off? So not after about 20 to 25 seconds? If the K5 turns off immediately, the power on the red and black wire is most likely interrupted by the EZCAN. This will cause problems. Your SD card can become defective as a result, which can also affect the firmware.
The K5 must always have power on the red and black wire. Only the yellow wire may or may not have power, depending on the ignition.
So check your entire power supply circuit. And if possible, connect the red and black wire directly to your battery. The yellow wire may remain switched by the EZCAN.
The fact that the blue LED flashes when the engine is running and is on continuously when the ignition is off should be the other way around. A running engine should provide enough voltage (blue LED continuously lit) and ignition off often has a lower battery voltage (blue LED flashing).
I can’t say definitively that the rear camera has become defective due to a power problem, I haven’t heard this often on the forum. It is not uncommon for an SD card and firmware to become corrupt due to power problems. Check whether you can retain the settings with a different SD card. -
Hello Hans,
don’t have my K5 handy, so I can’t check the loop recording setting. I thought I set it to 3 minutes. I set it to 3 minutes.
With everything connected to the EZCAN, does it happen now that when you turn off the ignition, the K5 turns off immediately? So not after 20 to 25 seconds? If the K5 turns off immediately, the power to the red and black wires is probably being interrupted by the EZCAN. This can cause problems.
After turning off the motorcycle's ignition, the K5 turns off after 30 seconds. I see the LEDs on the controller (Wi-Fi, GPS, and Camera) turning off after 30 seconds.
Your SD card may then be faulty, which can also affect the firmware.
I just replaced my SD card with a 32GB one and I'm having the same problem (loss of configuration).
The K5 should always be powered by the red and black wires. Only the yellow wire may or may not be powered, depending on the ignition. So check your entire power circuit. And if possible, connect the red and black wires directly to your battery. The yellow wire can still be powered by the EZCAN. If the blue LED flashes when the engine is running and stays on continuously when the ignition is off, it should be the other way around. A running engine should provide sufficient voltage (solid blue light), and with the ignition off, the battery voltage is often lower (flashing blue light). I can’t say for sure that the backup camera is faulty due to a power issue; I haven’t heard this kind of problem often on the forum. It’s not uncommon for an SD card and its firmware to be corrupted due to power issues. Check if you can preserve the settings with another SD card.
The settings aren't saved with another 32GB card.
I also just realized that when I press the button on the remote control twice, I should have a photo in the photo folder. But I have nothing, no photo file.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Michel,
Is it possible that you are holding the button down for too long? Because holding it down for too long will cause a factory reset.
Is there any dirt between the button that could cause it to get stuck and thus cause a factory reset? -
Hello Hans,
I tested by pressing the remote control button and nothing…
When starting the motorcycle and after initialization, nothing.
The settings are still not saved in the INNOVV app, and the rear camera still doesn’t work.
Can you please test by unplugging your rear camera and verify that your settings are still present in your INNOVV app?
Does your Wi-Fi flash normally or not?
Thanks in advance.
Have a nice day.

Hi Michel,
When I disconnect the rear camera, all settings are saved.
The Wi-Fi LED flashes when there’s no Wi-Fi connection. It also flashes when the rear camera is not connected.
The Wi-Fi LED stays on continuously when there’s a Wi-Fi connection to my phone. -
Hello Hans
Thank you for all this information.
I’ll wait until I receive the new camera to continue testing.
I’ll keep you informed.
Thank you again for your help.
Have a nice day.

Hi Michel,
You’re welcome. Hopefully, all the problems will be solved with the new camera. -
Hello,
I just received my rear
camera from China for the INNOVV K5 system.
It works very
well…phew.
However, I can’t save the settings in the INNOVV app
on my iPhone 12 (French version).
I change the TS option to MP4,
but it doesn’t save. When I turn off my motorcycle’s engine and
restart it, my iPhone’s settings return to default, i.e., in TS
mode.I deleted and reinstalled the INNOVV app as well as the
Wi-Fi on my iPhone.
I formatted the SD card with the INNOVV app
and performed a factory reset of the app.
I put the latest
firmware back on the SD card.
The SD card has been changed (it’s a
SanDisk Extreme 256Gb V30 A1).
Can you please tell me where the
INNOVV app settings for the cameras are saved?Default
settings:
Front camera mirroring: Normal
Loop recording: 1
minute
Video format: TS
Parking monitor: OFF
Gravity
acceleration OFFSettings:
Front camera mirroring: Flip
forward
Loop recording: 3 minutes
Video format: MP4
Parking
monitor: ON
Gravity acceleration ON
(This setting does not
persist, so the recorded videos are in TS and reversed)Can
you please tell me where the INNOVV camera app settings are
saved?Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Michel,
Good to hear that the rear camera is working for you.
The app settings are stored in the K5. Every time you access the app’s settings, they are read from the K5.
iPhones sometimes have a tendency to not establish a good Wi-Fi connection. If so, put your iPhone in airplane mode and then manually connect to the K5. Do you also have a VPN server running on your iPhone? If so, disable it as well.
Perhaps this is the reason why the K5 does not adopt the settings properly. -
Hello,
For your information, my rear camera was replaced, then my 5K DVR.
I think INNOVV could have offered me the option of upgrading to a 7K.
Thankfully, everything works well now because it cost me a fortune.
With a little extra money, I could have had the 7K instead of the 5K.
Thanks for your help
