Rear camera stopped working.
Posted by Steven on 2026-03-03 at 02:22Rear camera was working but has now stopped ?
Connections are good and still water tight.
Used the reset option in the menu but it didn’t help.
Any ideas what I can check, continuity of the cables maybe ?

I had the front one stopping before and it turned to be the connection between the cables getting loose due to movement of the handlebar. I had to loosen the tightness of the cables at the front and reconnect the cables and making sure the cables cove the full turning radious. Now for the rear cam it could be a tight cable, or it could be that the vibrations caused it to break with time. Make sure the cameras are fitted to parts that shake the least.

Just been out and checked what you suggested, all tight. Took them all apart to check for moisture and they’re all dry and have plenty of free movement. I’m thinking it’s either the rear camera itself or the cable leading to it.
Anyone know what outputs are expected at the connections?

Hi Steven,
You can remove the extension cable and connect the camera directly to the front camera. This way, you can rule out the extension cable as the problem.
The camera’s output is unknown. It’s not a USB camera, so as far as I know, it doesn’t have a wired connection with a positive and negative power supply and two data connections. -
I did exactly that this evening, it still didn’t work. Also whilst it was setup without the extensions it wouldn’t always turn on, would take a few attempts. I’ve submitted a ticket now because I’m out of ideas.

Hi Steven,
It’s also possible that the rear camera is defective.
Is the front camera (main system) starting up properly and functioning normally? -
System seems to be intermittent. Sometimes it will Sometimes it won’t. Honestly I give up with it, just want to send it back now and have it fixed or replaced.

Hi Steven,
If your K6 is still under warranty, I would definitely contact the seller. You might be able to receive a different system under warranty.
