Hello, I got 2 questions on recording.

I tested the K6 with USB connection. Upon powering USB you have couple of minutes WiFi connection to use the app to start recording.

Thing is you can’t stop recording without WiFi. Which isn’t there after 5 min. max. Only unplugging/plugging USB get the WiFi to enter the camera via app.

Question: Is there other means of doing so?

With 12V power I haven’t tried how this starting would work. It says recording upon start. Without app through it’s WiF.

Question: How would you I “pauze” or start recording when I want a certain stretch in my trip recorded? And stopped obviously when I want to.

It normally makes clips of 5min each. Yet, these will be overwritten. And I wouldn’t be aware when it does on a trip, in order to be sure it still has the clips of my intended stretch.

Manual is not going into practical use scenarios here.

    Thx.🙂

    Hi Jeff,
You can set the wifi active duration to on. The wifi connection will then remain active continuously.
According to the manual, you can start and stop recording by holding the button for 3 seconds. In my experience, 3 seconds does not work, you have to hold the button for about 9 to 10 seconds before the K6 turns off. The K6 cannot be turned on with the button. You then have to disconnect the USB power and reconnect it.

5 minutes of recording gives 2 files of about 175MB (front) and about 140MB (rear). This at a resolution of 2560×1440 P30 (front) and 1920×1080 P30 (rear). With a 256GB card you can then record about 40 hours.
The chance that you overwrite a recording is therefore small.

    @INNOVV
Can you make improvements to turning the K6 on and off using the button on the K6? This if the K6 is powered by a USB power bank. The manual is incorrect in this case.
Also, according to the manual, the recording cannot be started and stopped using the app, which is incorrect. The recording can be started and stopped using the app.
This applies to firmware version IK6.2031107.V1.0.01

    Thanks Hans

Totally missed the “ON” for WiFi settings. Had it set to 5.

Was looking at the file sizes and couldn’t make this out in total hours available. Thx for clearing this. 20 hours (128mb) wouldn’t be a problem for me as well.

The button action isn’t possible with my mounting position. Hence my issue getting the app to do this.

    All clear now👍
