Why do you need to connect the app via wifi to access anything at all?
You cant even access the setting ffs.

Ehhh….How do you suppose to connect your mobile to the camera, so the app could access it, if not by wifi? Bluetooth would be an alternative, but its range and transfer rate is lower than that of wifi.

My thoughts are that while my bike is in the garage, with the DVR disconnected from the USB socket, it would be nice to still be able to use the app from the comfort of my living room.
One such reason would be to look at the current settings in the app, and make changes offline as necessary. Then, when I reconnect the app to the DVR on the bike, the changes made locally on my phone app could be uploaded to the DVR.

Now I get it. You thought about some way of syncing the settings instead of setting them directly. That’s not possible. I see that this would be a convenient way to get used to the different settings and the app, but technically such kind of automatic syncing is difficult to implement.
For example, the app would has to connect your phone to the camera automatically as soon as it sees it. Now imagine your phone is in range of your home wifi AND you K5 wifi. Would you really want the Innovv app to disconnect your phone from your home wifi just to check whether the settings of your K5 has changed or not? I guess not, most of the time.
At the beginning, you will of course change the settings more frequently to find YOUR settings. But after that, you won´t use the app anymore. Only to check a video.

Yes I agree, once the settings changes are made then it is unlikely that I would bo back into the settings very often as you say.
While I have your attention, why is the default loop time set to 1 minute in the settings? And what are the maximum and best values for a 256gb sd card?

I can’t say why they set the default for loop recording to 1 minute. Perhaps because when the camera places some videos in the protected folder, they only take up one minute each instead of several minutes. But I really don’t know.
What’s the best setting?
To my experience, the G-Sensor setting, which saves the video to the protected folder, does not work reliably and produces too much false positives. So I switched it of. Means I will never have any video in the protected folder, which could take up space. And I sometimes want to create a video of a ride. So I’ve set the loop time to maximum, which is 5 minutes.
One hour of riding equals to 2GB of video. So with a 256GB card I can ride more than 10,5 hours before a video gets overwritten. Plenty of time to copy important videos to my computer.
