  • Struggling to Connect to Wifi and alter settings

Posted by kmm on 2026-04-29 at 17:19

I turn the camera on either with the motorbike turned on or with a power bank.

The buttons are red and flashing green.

I connect to the Innov wifi on an iphone 13 and the the button goes solid green.

Location is Always or While using app, Photos is Full Access.

On wifi settings it seems connected.

I can eventually see a picture on my phone.

I cannot see any saved files but these do record (intermittently) when I am riding.

If I try and use the app I get a please ensure the device is connected message although it seems to be connected.

Any ideas about how I can actually connect he app, see the files and adjust the settings?

    Thanks

    Hi Kevin,
iPhones sometimes have trouble establishing/maintaining a Wi-Fi connection with the Innovv cameras.
Put the iPhone in airplane mode and then try to manually establish a Wi-Fi connection with the K6.
Do you not have a VPN or firewall/virus scanner active? If so, turn them off.

It can sometimes take a while before you see the thumbnails of the saved videos. Especially with many recordings, it takes a bit more time for them to become visible.

    Thanks for getting back.

I turned on flight mode, connected to the camera WiFi and connected with no issues at all !

I had been a bit confused by previous advice on the forum as essentially, I had absolutely no idea that you could be in flight mode and then turn on the WiFi and connect to the camera! I though flight mode blocked all connections, phone signal, Bluetooth and Wifi – my bad!!

The camera worked on a recent trip to Spain and Portugal but was a bit hit and miss and recently hasn’t been recording. It is powered from a USB port so this may be the issue. I have recently fitted an EZcan so if I still have issues, I may connect the switched power supply.

The “manual” that comes supplied is pretty sparse on detail.

Many thanks for your prompt reply this afternoon. Great service.

    Hi Kevin,
    Thanks for the feedback.
If the K6 is powered via a USB connection, this USB power supply must be able to deliver sufficient power. If this is not the case, it can cause problems. If you are going to connect the K6 to the EZcan, make sure that the red and black wires receive continuous power. Switching on and off is then done using the yellow wire. If the K6 is switched on and off by simply removing the power supply, this can also cause problems. For example, the recording in progress will not be terminated properly, the SD card can become corrupted, and as a result, the K6 may malfunction.

    Spoke too soon.

I had to try this several times on 2 different iPhones to finally get a connection.

It really is a pretty terrible camera in terms of access the settings / images.

    I wouldn’t buy again.

    Hi Kevin

Sorry to hear that, because I understood from your previous message that it was working without problems now.

Regarding the video recording no longer working properly, format the SD card using the Innovv app. Cards formatted with a computer can sometimes cause problems. Even if the SD card has been read in a computer, it is advisable to format the SD card again with the Innovv. Does the SD card also meet the specs as stated by Innovv? The K6 must always be switched on and off properly. If the K6 is ‘hard’ shut down by disconnecting the power supply before the K6 has completed its shutdown, this can also cause problems in the long run. And you could possibly reinstall the firmware.
