    Hi everyone,

I saw INNOVV is selling a lens protector option for the INNOVV cameras, and it seems like a nice cheap way to do it. It’s inexpensive, but also has some issues in terms of the materials and seal between the camera and the lens leading to fog, water, dust to get between them. The Acrylic lens will also scratch incredibly easily.

I have made lens protectors for INNOVV cameras since 2021 and while more expensive, they are used by hundreds of riders around the world. This is a better lens protector here that uses sapphire lens material and is sealed for water/fog: https://jk3d.us/product/jk3d-motorsports-camera-lens-protector-v3

I’ve only had a single lens protector need to be replaced or sapphire crystal break by a customer and it was a rock so big it destroyed the entire lens protector but saved the camera.

Saw these… the seller is very friendly and responsive, but I thinl 33 bucks for a cam protector is just too much. I know they are made of saffier… but still these are intended to get the hits on behalf of the lens so they should be much cheaper… 10 bucks maybe… I mean 3D printing shoild make them cheaper, not kuch would go to the manufacturing, maybe the materials are expensive, but again… if I would get a pair for both cams it will be 66 bucks… witb the Innove price I can get an Insta 360… I know not a dash cam but it has some of the functionality plus some extras… so I really think Innovv should sponsor the guy to help make this cheaper somehow…

It is not cheap, sapphire is expensive and hard to source reliably. It is a Buy Once/Cry Once purchase. It’s also water/dust proof as those are very important for a lens protector to ensure fog doesnt happen in temperature changes.

It is 3D printed, but it is made of extremely high end materials and NOT cheap to make from a time, precision, quality control, or material perspective.

Also, you generally don’t need one for the back (it does help make it easier to clean the lens from dirt and debris, but less prone to rock impacts).
