I bought the Third Eye system (#INN-32504) from INNOVV UK on December 9, 2023.

Over the last number of months, I’ve had issues with the third eye not working whilst riding. It initialised as usual at the beginning of the ride but then a vehicle would overtake and the light wouldn’t come on. On the next ride-out the system would work as it should. At this stage, I started to doubt the reliability of the third eye, I just didn’t have any faith in it working.

Now however, the system has stopped altogether. The light on the module doesn’t go on. I have changed the fuse even though the original fuse was good. I have checked the negative connection and it is fine. The +ve connection shares the same ACC connection as the INNOVV K5 Camera system and the K5 is still powered. But, just in case, I also tried an alternative ACC connection again to no avail. The wires are all in good condition.

    Hi Aidan,
The ThirdEye does not give a signal for every vehicle that overtakes you.
It depends on the distance between you and the other vehicle, the difference in speed and the angle relative to the ThirdEye. I have also noticed that not every vehicle that overtakes me gives a message. I have set the ThirdEye almost horizontally and I think I get a message faster that way. But that is just a feeling.
Have you checked all the connectors of your ThirdEye to see if they are properly secured and no moisture has entered?
    Otherwise, contact Innovv UK.

      Hi Hans

Your fisrst statement is very worrying: “The ThirdEye does not give a signal for every vehicle that overtakes you.” I thought that the very purpose of the system was to warn you of every car that overtakes you, whether it is on the right or on the left hand side. The description of your product states how clever the system is in doing this very job.

As I said I’ve had issues with the third eye not working whilst riding. The system goes through the initialisation as usual when I turned the bike on – the lights flashed and the module beeped. Then sometimes, when out on a ride I would see a vehicle about to overtake me, but the lights do not flash to warn me. For the remainder of the ride the system fails to warn me if I am being overtaken.

Now the system has completely failed. The module does not initialise. There are no lights showing on the module.

      What have I done?

I have changed the ACC connection to another completely different one. The INNOVV K5 runs of the same connection as the third eye and it is working fine.

I have changed the fuse even though there was nothing wrong with the original one

I have checked the earth wire connection and it is fine.

The module itself is positioned under the seat and I have covered it with waterproof material so that in the unlikely hood that water should get under the seat, the module is and has always been securely waterproofed.

I have taken the radar element off the bike and brought it to a friend of mine who also has the Third Eye system. When it is connected to his system, it works as expected – thus eliminating the radar element.

    Hi Aidan,
My personal experience is that not every vehicle is detected. These are usually vehicles that pass me at a very large distance with a very very low speed difference.
But otherwise everything is detected, see also my test videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8LwaErcInA
By the way, it is not my product, I am not an employee of Innovv. I am just an active Innovv fan who performs the administrator tasks of this forum and would like to provide technical support based on my own experiences.
You have already taken the necessary actions yourself and I can therefore only conclude that the module itself has become defective.
The module is IP67 classified, so dust and immersion-proof. Placing it under your seat should not be the cause of the problem. Unless the splashing water is sprayed hard against it.
I advise you to contact your dealer and submit the complaint under warranty.
