Hi – I’ve been given a K6 for my birthday. It’s wired in with the power supply. It starts up after turning the ignition on, and off a few seconds after turning it off. So far, so good.

The first day after installing it, I left the bike in the garage. An hour and a half after leaving it, it started recording. It then didn’t stop until the battery ran flat.

The second problem is that when the SD card filled up (256GB U3 SanDisk) it started recording short videos and eventually stopped recording anything. The old videos aren’t deleted.

I’ve seen both problems mentioned on the forum, but haven’t seen any clear solutions. Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

    Hi Richard.

First of all, double check the wiring, especially the yellow signal wire.

Also, have you updated the K6 to latest firmware ?

Finally, did you format the SD card in the camera vis the app?

Hi – the wiring seems correct, it switches off when expected. I think it’s the latest firmware, but the only one I can find is dated 2023? Lastly, yes – I formatted the card in the camera.

    Thanks.

    Hi Richard,
What does the LED on the power supply indicate? What color is it, and is it lit continuously or flashing? This applies to both the ignition and the ignition being switched off.

Can you check what happened an hour and a half after switching off the ignition? Perhaps you have a battery optimizer connected?

In the app, you can check your firmware version at the bottom of the settings page; it’s listed under “FW Version.” What version is this? What settings did you make in the app?

You can safely reinstall the firmware to be sure.
