I have done some more experiments since my last reply and I am happy that the K5 is doing all of the fundamental things that it should be doing correctly. The app, however, is struggling a bit. It will play downloaded files reliably and the phase shift between the picture and the sound has not occurred on that mode of operation. But every time I try to play a file from the camera storage, it fails and the app either shuts down completely or returns to the top-level menu.
I do have an active anti-virus app on the phone. I also have another phone but it does not support 5GHz wi-fi. I have loaded the app onto it and run the same tests as before, after switching the wi-fi band. The results were similar but not quite the same as the other phone. It played the downloaded files OK. And it started to play one of the files from the K5 but it then displayed a message to say that the file is a 4K file and it would give better results if it were downloaded. On subsequent attempts, the message came up immediately and the file would not play at all.

Hi Hans,
Things have improved a bit but still not quite right. I changed the recording format to MP4 and formatted the SD card, to get rid of the TS files. Then I deleted the app from my phone, including all related data, and reinstalled the app. I recorded some more files and attempted to play them back on the phone via the app. The first one played fine but when I attempted to play a second file the app crashed again. So it works better than it did but still quite unreliable.
When playing back one of the files, I noticed that the video and the sound are out of sync by several seconds. Is that normal? If so then it makes the microphone pretty much pointless.
And I have a question – do I loose any information by recording in MP4? Is the GPS and G-sensor data still available in the MP4 format?

I set the format to MP4 this morning, recorded a couple of files, downloaded one and attempted to view them on my phone. The result was the same as for the .TS files. It happened for the file that was resident on the camera and for the file that had been downloaded. The app crashed instantly when the ‘view’ option was selected. I can replay the files without problems on my desktop computer but that isn’t a very convenient way of doing it.
I appreciate your help. Thank you.

It is an Innovv K5 and the phone is a Pixel 4a (5G)

I have the one with the red logo. It still crashes every time I try to view a video file on the phone.

Come to think of it, I don’t think that there was a choice of which Innovv app to install. I just searched for “INNOVV app” and it found one and I installed it. How can I tell if it is the correct one?

Thanks Hans. That has helped a lot. I have succeeded in playing the .TS files on my computer using VLC. At least I now know that they are being recorded correctly onto the SD card. I have also installed VLC on my phone but the Innovv phone app still crashes every time I try to view a .TS file on my phone via the app. My setup is K5 and I believe that I have installed the correct app but the phone doesn’t provide enough detail about the app to identify a particular build.
