Thanks Hans,
I now have second DVR which came from a friend, it died on him a while back and he’s donated it to my soldering school :). Out of curiosity, the INNOVV uk site shows K2 DVr’s out of stock, but they have K3 DVR’s. The connectors look different, but do you happen to know if it (would be) possible to hook up my K2 externals (psu, gps, camera’s) to a K3 DVR? After altering the connectors obviously.

Further to last, would it be possible to update the firmware such that if it cannot get a sensible date/time from system, it collects it from GPS? My DVR reverts to 1999 date which is obvious (to software) incorrect, so jump to GPS time would be preferable.

Okay, I’ve opened the DVR and can see there is a very small battery soldered in place. Do INNOVV offer any sort of repair/maintenance service? I’d rather not take a soldering iron to it, would much prefer to send in for battery replacement.
Thanks
Sean

Thanks Hans,
There are posts on this forum for the K6 where owners mention losing settings. When I first started experiencing these problems I found posts mentioning similar on the K2 forum which seems to no longer be available. The advice from memory there was to login to the DVR with the phone App before starting a ride.
The DVR button is not clamped. The battery on my bike is fairly new, and the settings issue occurs even when I just switch on the ignition, ie. not pressing starter which will draw heavy current.
I followed your suggestions. I set the DVR settings to loop at 10 minutes, and G-sensor to off. I removed all data files from the SD card before putting in DVR. I disconnected the power module and connected a USB power bank. After a few minutes I switched off the DVR with the button, and extracted the SD card to check the files, which all had date-stamp of 31 Dec 1999 starting from 23:00. On powering up the DVR again and checking with the App, the loop of 10 minutes and G-sensor off are retained.
So my first question is where does the DVR get it’s date-time stamp to apply to the files it creates? GPS would be an obvious source. And if the date-time is retained in the DVR (I don’t believe there is a setting for it), is thie internal battery you mention responsible for keeping power to that setting?
If I want to replace the internal battery, is it just the screws on the DVR I need to undo. Anything in particular I should be wary of?
thanks
Sean
