I also have had exactly the same problem – more than once now!

I had my previous K7’s DVR replaced under warranty after it did exactly as you describe – went from working perfectly to not powering off even when the yellow trigger wire was disconnected from a power source.

Now, after a year of working perfectly, my replacement K7 DVR is doing the same – although this time it sometimes switches off, then miraculously powers back on again even with the yellow trigger wire disconnected.

I have contacted Innovv support again to check the replacement is also covered by warranty (it’s less than a year old). I have also asked if they found out why the previous unit had gone faulty.

As a matter of interest, what bike did you have yours fitted to?

Mine was fitted to my 2019 R1250GS and the yellow trigger wire was connected to a DIN plug put in the bike’s socket (which is powered off a short time after the bike’s ignition) – disconnecting the plug doesn’t seem to shut the unit down (it did originally!).

Hi Hans,

Would you believe that having left the DVR disconnected for a week or so, when I reconnected it to the battery to investigate further it has started to behave itself?

I’m keeping an eye on it, and disconnecting the plug that connects the yellow wire to the DIN socket on my BMW before the socket powers down (it stays live for a while after the ignition is switched off), and will report back if it misbehaves again.
