Here goes… off to insert the sd card with the bin file you sent on it.

    One step at a time.

A couple of weeks away – back home and have bought a new SD card (San Disc). That seems to have solved everything. It must have been a duff card, because I tried it in my drone (Mavic 4Pro) and it worked a bit for photos, but too slow write speed to capture ALL the photos. Given enough between taking a shot it was OK, those pictures taken a couple of seconds apart weren’t saved.
Thanks to Han and everyone for your help. Next question is how to save a particular clip section on the go…. I’ll do a new question / post on that subject.

I fired the engine up and have got the lights to work again – red and green.

Now going to try this bin file thing… buggered if I can remember the instructions between computer and bike though!

Thanks for the instructions Hans – slowly working through the red flags at the top of my computer!

    Back later with updates.

    Hans,

I don’t even try to look at the files on my mobile phone. I take the card out of the camera and download direct to my computer. I am reading your replies and writing to you on my computer.

Why are the videos on the card (and I know they are there because of the size of the files) not viewable? Other people are having the same or similar problems. I have got a computer shop to put VLC on the computer for me, but I don’t know how to work it because that cannot read the videos either.

I am not sure if it was you or someone else, but they said to ‘reflash’…. what does that mean please? And how do I do it?
I have the bike in WiFi range on a fibre optic broadband link, very strong signal, ready to do this ‘reflash’ thing and see if that helps.

The video I sent you is straight off the card downloaded onto my computer. That is the problem I am having.
My delay in replying is because I have been away working for 10 days and I don’t take my computer with me. Emails just have to wait. If it is important, people phone me the old fashioned way. If they can’t or won’t do that – tough! Life is too short to worry about such things. That is how I am beginning to think about this dashcam malarky. I was going to bin it last time, but you have given it a reprieve and I am going to try and get it to work, until I get too frustrated to bother any more.
    Thanks,
    Simon

    Hi Simon,
The K6 records in MP4 format by default. This cannot be changed in the app either.

You can perform a master reset by re-flashing the K6’s firmware. If a bug has crept into the firmware, it will be fixed. All settings will then also be reset to factory defaults. With the default factory settings, the K6 should create normal .MP4 files that can be played by almost any device. If you look at the SD card with the recordings, do the files actually have the .mp4 extension? With the Innovv app, can you see the thumbnails of the video files? But playing them on your phone doesn’t work either?

You can also send me a video file, and I will see if I can open it.

This is straight off the card.
I can’t see what is on my mobile phone – the screen is so tiny, how does anyone do anything on a mobile? I hate the thing – I use it as a telephone, not as a typewriter. People ring me on it and I talk to them, in real time!

Hans – thank you. That is what I did last night. How do I get the K6 to turn on again please? It won’t turn on with the ignition and nothing happens when I press the button. It is dead to the world.

Hans – how do I do that instruction you asked if I had done please? I don’t understand the words people use around computers – it is like learning a foreign language for me. The trouble is, replying I cannot see what you wrote and have to try and remember it.
I have tried to load one of the video clips, but the system won’t allow me to it says it cannot be loaded because either the system or network is down or the thing isn’t supported or words to that effect.
