Hello Hans,
Thank you very much for your quick response!
Thanks for this information, i’ll try it this week on a USB port.
However, regarding the converter, it was already replaced in June 2024, this is the second one since 2020…😔
And after discussing it with INNOV’s sales department in 2024, it was the very latest model for the K2. Fortunately, after some research, they still had one in stock, but it was no longer visible or listed on the INNOV spare parts website…
Originally, they sent me a converter for the K3 due to an error on my part when ordering, as I thought it was identical, except that the keying on the aluminum plug is slightly different, which makes installation impossible…🧐
Of course, the old model certainly won’t last as long as the taxes in France, and it will certainly need to be replaced at some point.
In any case, this K2 served its purpose well for five and a half years, or about 120,000 km of vide 😍👌
I’ll keep you posted on the results if it helps others on this forum.
Best regards,
Rick

Hi Robo63,
If this can help or guide you, as K2 and K3 are very similar, please feel free to check out my various exchanges with the very knowledgeable moderators on the subject of “Wi-Fi” in January 2025, you never know ✌
Sincerely,
Rick

HI Frostie,
No transmission problem,
So yes, I started from scratch, reformatted my SD card to FAT32 (I had already done it but hey), then I took with your links the firmware file K2.bin as well as your file K2-V71_with-Logging.bin from your drop box, I applied all your instructions to check the DVR startup steps, with the only difference and I don’t know how to explain it, ”The photo function” no longer flashes at startup with the ignition of the motorcycle?
Before checking the wifi connection of the application with my phone, I first looked on my PC at my SD card, let’s say to see if I had a ”Journal” file linked to your K2-V71_with-Logging file for analysis as you told me, but nothing was recorded more, apart from videos of the moment, about 2 minutes max.
Then I reinstalled my SD card in the DVR, the wifi connection took less than a minute, but at this point I already had no problems as indicated in my previous messages, and there to my great surprise, when opening the application in its settings tab, the connection was immediate, no message or other problem as before and the same in the other tabs?
I tried again 2/3 times to say… no problem!
To get to the bottom of things, I went for a little tour, (Well with shitty weather… but hey, when you love you don’t count anymore 😉
Then test on PC of the SD card on the “Dascam Viewer” application no problem on the video sequence whose duration also went back to 10 minutes, when they had gone to 8 minutes maximum?
So, I admit that I don’t know why in the end it works now, whereas before as I was able to explain to Hans during the first exchanges, I reformatted my SD card from time to time to preserve it a little, downloaded as usual the firmware K2.bin?
Can your K2-V71_with-Logging file have a positive impact or does it have nothing to do with it?
If it can help other people or if I can send you other elements, no problem for me quite the contrary!
Thanks again to you for your help!
Kind regards
Rick

Hi Frostie,
Thank you very much for all these details, I have taken note of them and as soon as time allows me to do these tests, I will put into practice your usage procedures and this feedback on this K2 firmware and its analysis log and will post with these elements.
Best regards

Hi Frostie,
It’s perfect thank you very much, everything is back in order by starting everything from the beginning, with your last message.
The connection is quite fast for wifi but especially now and finally, I can reuse the application normally from my new mobile, it opens automatically and immediately when I want to enter these settings, videos and other parameters. 🙏
Thanks again, for this precious help!✌

Hi Frostie,
Ok I understand better and thank you very much for all this information, I will look this weekend as soon as I can and will give you feedback on this subject!
Best regards
Rick
Hi Frostie,
I’m getting back to you because after testing today, in relation to your suggestions, here is what came out.
I checked the wifi connection and it is well recognized by my phone and in its settings on the date notified of the day with the URL 192.168.1.254.
I formatted my SD card in FAT32 on my PC.
Then from my phone, I entered the INNOVV application and after several attempts after systematically accepting the message ”Please confirm your WIFI connection to the camera” I was able to open the window in the center of the application to access the parameters of the various settings, then I formatted my SIM card again.
Subsequently, I downloaded the K2 bin file from my PC via its Internet link.
Then, I reconnected to INNOVV with my phone, and only after about ten attempts, I was able to re-enter the INNOVV settings, then the live viewing of the cameras, but, I had absolutely nothing, no visual, as well as in the window to access the files normally saved.
What I could also see in the settings of the Wifi connected to INNOVV, is that the password that I had changed as indicated in my previous emails, remained the same and never returned to the factory data 12345678, despite the formatting of the sim card?
Since then, impossible to reconnect even if the innovv wifi recognition is well recognized.
For information, I tried again with my old android phone, which worked perfectly before, the problem became identical too??
On the other hand, I have 2 observations.
Information on the converter LED
1) When the motorcycle ignition is off = blue LED lit steadily. (Normal)
2) When the ignition is on = flashing blue LED even after the DVR turns on a few seconds later.
DVR = Permanent flashing and in this order: Wifi – Camera and GPS.
3) When I turn off the ignition: Converter = LED on fixed red.
4) Then when the DVR turns off in turn = fixed blue LED of the converter.
Sometimes on the DVD the WIFI does not turn on at all, just the flashing of the camera, forcing to restart by the ignition or also by disconnecting the fuse of the converter, to restart the whole.
What do you think?
Best regards

Hi Frostie and Hans,
Thanks for these answers
Due to lack of time, I only got back to it today, I haven’t tried it with my wife’s identical phone yet, but for your information, before changing phones, I already had an old Android (Galaxy 2012) which was quite limited by the way, but whose connection worked wonderfully, so I don’t think it’s a problem under Android.
Currently the only thing I have done is to act on the central button of the DVR following Hans’ information, I have not tried the reset on the side, which I have just read now on your explanations 😉
The wifi ”Not secured” of INNOVV is detected on my phone so everything is normal, but as soon as I want to enter the settings page or the live video or the recordings, the information page of INNOVV opens indicating a wifi connection problem…
If I click on this information page of INNOVV where is displayed among other things the image of a phone, I have this first message (Photo of my 1st email) and which systematically brings me back to the settings of INNOVV which are in my phone, where everything is checked “Accepted”, to authorize the application.
I had never had this request before on the old laptop, concerning this message on the photo, only sometimes the wifi problem page, the time it connects.
For the SD card on PC, the recordings are present, so I’m not sure that reformatting and putting the K2 link back will change anything?
There I admit that I don’t really know what to think, apart from this problem of wifi not recognized by the INNOVV application on this new phone.
Should I try as you notified me, a reset through the small hole on the side?
Is this a problem following the new password (But correct in the wifi settings), replacing the factory one, knowing that I had changed it just before replacing the phone.
Kind regards
Rick

Hi Hans
Yes good idea, I’ll try with another phone by the way my wife has exactly the same model so…
Indeed, there is a big button on the DVR, but I never really knew what its main function was, so I’ll try that too and then continue as you told me, we’ll see.
Thanks again for your quick answers 👌

Hi Ans!
Thank you very much for this feedback!
Yes yes, the card had been formatted and by the INNOVV application with my old phone about 1 month ago, K2 firmware reinstalled of course, an operation that I do on average 4/5 times a year.
This SD card is about a year old, it is the 3rd since 2020, I use it on my PC by a USB key, only for looping videos with Dascam Viewer and for the firmware if necessary.
For all the rights and others of the INNOVV application, yes I tried to put everything, moreover in 2020 for my first K2 download, I had never had this type of request for rights, the connection had worked immediately!
I admit that I don’t really understand anymore, should I start all over again, but the problem, no longer having access to the INNOVV settings, no longer possible to reformat the SD card…
What do you think, is it an application problem or a malfunction of my SAMSUNG GALAXY model phone?
Kind regards
Rick

Good morning Marc,
Bingo, conclusive test with a USB socket, the DVR is turned back on…😅
The cost will be much lower to change the 12v converter… 😌
Thanks again for your help!

Hello Hans and Marc,
Yes the battery is OK, I took my multimeter to check different connections as well as the battery in the 2 engine phases.
I also tried to restart the DVD using its central button, with a short and long press (You never know) and, apart from a very brief mini WIFI flash, nothing else.
@Marc, thank you for this information, I will try, I really haven’t thought about it and will report back whatever the result.
Thanks a lot you two 👍 ✌

Hi Hans,
Yes, reversing the plug is a good idea, i’m equipped to do it, but regarding the test you recommend with a USB connection, I tried it with my motorcycle’s USB port, disconnecting the two positive terminals from the converter, and unfortunately, the result is the same…
What do you think, Has the DVR breathed its last breath?

Hi,
I’m posting on my old thread because the K2 and (K3) are no longer available, as is the old forum.
I need your help with my K2, which I’ve had since 2020. For some time now, the Wi-Fi, GPS, and photo lights have stopped blinking; only the camera light works.
As a result, I can no longer log into Settings to reset values like the video format and other settings, such as regularly formatting (FAT32) my two SIM cards (about once a month), which I sometimes alternate between 64 GB for short trips and 356 GB for long trips.
I also recently noticed that, for no reason, the video format was automatically changing to match the manufacturer’s settings, resulting in outdated videos.
The converter flashes blue at startup, followed by a faint Wi-Fi activation on the DVR for a second, then nothing, only the video light flashes red.
I’ve tried all sorts of reboots, including using the large center button on the DVR and resetting it with a small pin on the side, but to no avail.
Do you think the DVR is out of commission?
Best regards
Rick
