Hi Kev,
the factory reset by pressing the button 10 sec does not reset the wifi password. To reset it, you have to re-install the firmware, as explained in the link below.

Hi Michael,
late reply, as I was out or order for some weeks due to a surgery.
For the K2 I did a modified firmware which connected to my home wifi. And as the K3 and K2 share the same base hard- and firmware, this should be possible at the K3, too. But it was more a proof-of-concept than a good running solution. The SSID and password needed to be hardcoded into the firmware. Additionally, the firmware does not allow long and/or complex passwords, which means your home wifi needs to use an easy short password. Not recommendable. And finally, the modified firmware will not allow the use of the Innovv app anymore, as it is not possible to switch back to AP Mode. For reasons I don’t know it did not work to switch from Station Mode to AP Mode with the modified firmware. The AP did not accept any clients then. Of course one could re-install the original firmware to get everything back working.
If you are able to suffer, you can try your luck by temporarily switching the K3 to station mode. At the K2 it was possible to use some http commands to temporarily switch it to station mode. These settings are not saved, so at next reboot it switches back to AP Mode. But I never tested this on the K3.

Administrator2024-08-23 at 15:16 in reply to: K3 stopped working after BMW GS 1250 Headlight update?Hi Michael,
I had the exact same issue with my K3 and EZcan. It all started after I disconnected the battery for a while for another reason. After that, EZcan stoppped signaling the status of the ignition on the third wire, so the K3 did not start.
My solution was the same as yours. I resetted the EZcan and re-created the settings and everything was fine.
Some words about the battery voltage at your GS.
The battery of the GS is relatively small, which always causes the voltage to drop when the ignition is on but the engine not running. That’s because the GS takes around 5A from the battery with ignition on. So even with a fully charged battery the voltage will drop to 2.6V-2.4V.

Hi Rick,
the first test I would do is powering the DVR by USB. Just use normal wall charger for smartphones with at least 2A. If the DVR starts up, chances are good that the DVR is ok and that only the power module got broken.

Hi Rostam,
sad thing that the old forum with all its content is gone, because there I wrote a long thread about the hidden features of the K5 (and K2/K3).
Forget the ftp port. There is no ftp server on the K5. But you can use the webserver to completely configure/control the K5 by using special http commands.
http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd=x&par=y
with x being the option you want to set and y being the parameter/command.
So, as an example, http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd =8010&par=1 will set the video format to TS, while par=0 will set it to MP4.
You could also delete a video or all videos at once (cmd=4004), format the sd card (cmd=3010) or do a system reset (cmd=3011)
Attached you will find a Excel sheet I made with all settings I discoverd so far. Some settings of the K3 also applies.
Regarding downloading videos, you could only use a http tool like wget to download the videos via the webserver of the K5.

Hi Wayne,
in the URL you wrote http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd%20=2002&par=28
The “%20” is wrong here.
Additionally, if you want to change the resolution setting (or any other setting), you first have to stop recording (http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd=2001&par=0).

Hi Morten,
depending on the loop settings and the size of the sd card, you will end up with a lot of videos before the K5 starts to overwrite the oldest videos. But that’s normal.
The button can be used for both save recordings and take pictures.
– one press ==> save video to protected folder
– press twice ==> take picture
