Hi Roy,
Connecting to a brake light is not an option. After all, it only has power when you brake.
Lighting your number plate is a better option. Otherwise, it will be a search for which switched wire keeps power when starting. -
Hi Roy,
I don’t know what AMPS stands for, so what the measurements are, no idea.
But the distances between the center of the screws are:- horizontal 52 mm
- vertical 40 mm

Hi Roy,
When starting the engine, a lot of voltage is needed for the starter motor. That is why many accessories are temporarily switched off during starting.
I suspect that the navigation power is also switched off since the BMW navigation (=Garmin) has a battery and can therefore temporarily be without power.I have connected the switched power to the connector for the top case on my BMW (k1600GT/2018). This connector is located under the pillion seat

The K7 should also work with the Innovv app.
Videos should be viewable via ‘Camera Files’, watch directly from the camera or via ‘Local Files’ downloaded videos.
It could be that your phone does not have the correct codecs.Anyway, you have your key-fob back and that is the most important thing.
Enjoy your K7. -
Hi Stephen,
Are you reading the card using the Innovv app, or with a computer?
Always format the SD card using the Innovv app in the camera. Formatting using a computer does not always work properly. An SD card formatted with a computer is not always recognized properly by an Innovv camera.
Check whether the yellow wire is receiving a good control voltage. I have read too often on the forum that Thunder Box, Hex EZcan and similar accessory connection boxes cause problems. For example, connect the yellow wire to your license plate lighting.
Also check all connectors, wiring and power supply. Because it is strange that it records when stationary and not when moving. -
Hi Malcom,
It could be that you do not have the correct codec for .MP4 H.265.
VLC also needs the correct codecs.
When you look at live view in the app, do you see the image of the cameras?
Did you format the SD card in the K6 using the Innovv app? It is recommended to format it with the Innovv app every time after you have read the SD card in the computer. Otherwise there is a chance that K6 will no longer see the SD card properly.
Does the SD card meet the specifications as stated in the manual, U3 or higher? -
Hi Stephen,
Can you give more info about:- Type of SD card, which class etc?
- Have you formatted the SD cards using the Innovv app?
- What indications do the LEDs on the remote control give?
- Have you connected the yellow switch wire correctly?
- Have you also checked whether there are recordings in accident/protected recordings?
- And more….?
In short, the more info you can give, the better we can hopefully help you. At the moment, the information you have given is quite brief.

Hi Gijs,
U1 is sufficient, U3 is better (is faster). But besides the U-number, the video speed class mark is also important.
Have you already formatted the SD card using the Innovv app? It is recommended to format the SD card with the app and not with a computer.
In the app, do you see that the cameras are working properly?
If the firmware update went well, you can see in the app under settings which firmware the K3 has. This is under System. To be sure, you could perform the firmware update again if you have any doubts. -
Hi Helge,
Unfortunately, the Third Eye can only be switched on or off. No further settings are possible.
The Third Eye is also intended to warn you if traffic coming from behind you is approaching you too quickly. You will also experience this if you are standing still at a traffic light and a vehicle approaches you from behind at a certain speed. This is also a collision warning. The Third Eye therefore functions as it should.
Incidentally, there is a difference in how the Third Eye gives a warning. If one of the LEDs is constantly on, it is a blind spot warning. If both LEDs are flashing, a vehicle is approaching you quickly from behind.
Also see my video on https://youtu.be/V8LwaErcInA
In this video, the LEDs are placed at the oil reservoirs of the clutch and front brake
The position where you have placed the Third Eye is correct.
I mounted my Third Eye on a K1600 GT, see the link for pictures of this installation.

HI Tomáš,
When the SD card is full, the oldest recordings should be automatically deleted on a FIFO (first-in-first-out) basis. This only works if the ‘Loop Recording Duration’ is set. If this is not set, the recording will stop when the SD card is full. The Wifi LED has no meaning when it comes to recordings. Only the camera LED indicates the status of the recording.Formatting the SD card with a computer is not recommended. An SD card formatted by a computer is sometimes not processed properly by the Innovv camera. This can cause missing recordings and the K7 to restart. Therefore, always only format using the Innovv app.
For updating, watch this video. Video is about the K5 but the update procedure is the same for the K7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGvg1051gPI
The update is best performed with an SD card with a size of between 8 and 32Gb. -
Hi Stephen,
With a voltmeter you can measure what a switched power supply is.
I would not use the power cable at your brake light. Then your K7 will only turn on when you use your brake. You must use a switched power supply that is switched with your ignition.
Your motorcycle dealer/garage can tell you which cable to use. The colors differ per motorcycle brand. The SD card should be fine.

Hi Karl,
It is recommended to only format the SD card with the Innovv app. If you format the SD card with a computer, this can sometimes cause the Innovv camera to no longer handle the SD card properly.
The DVR getting hot is not good. Try mounting it in a different place where it can get more cooling. The housing of the DVR also functions as a heat sink, so if cool air can flow past it, this is recommended.
Using the ‘live view’ in the app, can you see that both cameras are working?
To rule out that one of the components is causing problems, you can, for example, disconnect a camera and then see what happens. If nothing changes, reconnect the camera and disconnect the other camera. You can also do this with the other components. This way you can rule out whether a component is defective. -
Hi Karel,
The DVR can get warm, but it should not get hot.
Does the SD card meet the minimum specifications that Innovv sets? What have you tried yourself? Just a reset? Or also formatted the SD card using the Innovv app?
Do you perhaps have more information? -
Hi Helge,
I’m glad that things have become clearer now. -
Hi Stephen,
I think this question is the same as the one you asked in another topic. For my answer see the other topic. This is to prevent the same discussion from going on in multiple topics.
