Hi Sean,
A small backup battery is soldered into the K2. It could be that capacity is decreasing.
If you are technically handy and can handle a soldering iron, you can replace it yourself.
As far as I know, this is not a common weakness. I do not recognize the complaints with other Innovv models. Could you please give me a link where this is stated.
I had a similar complaint with my own K2. But that only happened because I had stretched a tyrap too tight over the button on the DVR while mounting the DVR unit. As a result, a kind of factory reset was always performed. The button of your K2 is not clamped/pressed?
Another cause may be that the battery capacity of your motorcycle becomes poor. When starting the motorcycle, a lot of power is required. If your battery is deteriorating, a large voltage dip may occur that can cause current or current in the K2.Can you power the K2 with a USB power bank? Disconnect the power module before connecting the USB powerbank. If the K2 settings are retained, the cause is not the K2’s backup battery.
With a USB power bank power supply connected, you can switch the K2 on and off using the button on the DVR unit. -
Hi Bob,
The accessory power supply is the power supply to automatically switch the K7 on/off with the ignition of your motorcycle.
By the way, it is best to connect the constant plus and minus directly to the battery.
For example, you can connect the yellow wire to the lighting of your license plate. This lighting only comes on when your ignition is on. The K7 then turns on when your rear light is turned on the K7 and turns off again when the ignition is turned off. -
Hi Jozsef,
I have no experience with the K7 myself, but purely based on specifications I expect that the K7 should record better video than the K2. The K7 allows 2K resolution, the K2 has a maximum FHD resolution.
When I play your video I cannot choose a higher resolution than 1080p HD. Was the video recorded in 2K or in 1080? 1080p HD is then equal to the maximum resolution of the K2. What quality of video do you get if you choose 2K/30FPS? Okay, EIS may not be possible, but you should get better resolution. Try making recordings with different bit rates with this setting.
Where do you get the bitrate data from? I only see ‘low’, ‘normal’ or ‘high’. But specific numbers…
The bitrate is not only software dependent but also hardware dependent, so I doubt it can be easily adjusted in the source code alone.
The K7 cannot actually be compared to the K5. They both use different video sensors. The K5 can produce 4K video, the K7 a maximum of 2K.Hopefully by trying different settings you can get better image quality.

Hi Guy,
I mounted the ThirdEye radar unit in almost the same place (K1600GT).
The radar unit is mounted almost horizontally, so not at the recommended angle of 10 degrees. I feel that vehicle detection works even better. But I have no concrete evidence that this is actually the case, it remains a feeling. -
Hi Guy,
Have fun with your ThirdEye.
Maybe you can post some photos for inspiration from other 1250RT riders.
Yes, Innovv does indeed have good service, many companies can follow this example. -
Hi Jozsef,
Unfortunately the old forum is no longer active. The content of this old forum has not been transferred to the new forum. This is because the new platform runs on a different system than the old platform.
I suspect you are looking for information on how to connect the K2 to a computer using a web browser. Fortunately, I have saved some information from the old forum. So hopefully the below is what you’re looking for (thanks to Frostie).
K2 connectie met laptop
Using a Laptop would be the easiest way.
Connect your laptop to the K2 by wifi and open a web browser. Then enter the following URL to check you are connected.
You should then see a simple website, which gives you access to the sd card of the K2. If you see this page, you are ready to send commands.
Before changing the brightness, you should stop recording first. Just enter.
http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd=2001&par=0
Now you can change the brightness, using this command.
http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd=2005&par=X
…with X ranging from 0 (lighter) to 12 (darker). Default is 6.
So entering e.g. http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd=2005&par=12 will set the K2 to the darkest brightness setting.
Now restart recording by entering
http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd=2001&par=1
To check the result, you can directly download the recorded videos on the website. Before doing this, you should again stop recording by entering the URL mentioned above.
So the steps are.
http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd=2001&par=0 <- Stop recording
http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd=2005&par=X <- Change brightness
http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd=2001&par=1 <- Start recording
Wait a minute
http://192.168.1.254/?custom=1&cmd=2001&par=0 <- Stop recording
http://192.168.1.254 <- Download video
Check brightness in video
The K2 will revert to default brightness when it reboots.

I think the K3’s Timelapse works a little differently. No frames are skipped but the frame rate is reduced. This creates a video recording that appears to play faster when played back at a normal frame rate.
Do you play the videos in the app or on the computer with, for example, VLC player? Does the problem occur both in the app and on the computer?

Hi Christopher,
The purple image is clearly due to a camera problem. This could be a bad connection, try disconnecting the camera connectors and reconnecting them. This will clean the contacts a bit.
It may also have been caused by the camera cable being mounted too tightly. Vibration of a cable that is mounted too tightly can cause cable breakage.
Also check whether the rubber rings are present in the connectors of the cameras. These keep the connectors watertight.
To rule out that it is the DVR, you can swap the front and rear cameras. If the problem moves along, you know for sure that it is the camera and not the DVR.

Greg, thanks for the info.
I’m going to experiment with this too. -

Hi Bob,
I have no experience with the K7, but I do have experience with other Innovv models.
The following does not necessarily apply to the K7.
The DVR can become warm because it also houses the processor. The housing of the DVR then works as a heat sink. So it is true that it can heat up well. But it should not happen so warm/hot that the DVR/Cameras can no longer be touched
The cameras also contain the necessary electronics that generate heat.
In parking mode the camera/DVR will not get warm. The K7 is then in ‘sleep mode’ and consumes little power.
If the power consumption is as low as that of the K3 or K5, you can certainly leave the motorcycle for a few weeks. I assume that you have a good battery in your motorcycle.
The K7 switches off automatically when the ignition is switched off. And if you have enabled parking mode, the K7 will monitor whether the battery voltage becomes too low. Below 12.5V, the parking mode will be switched off to protect your battery from draining. -
Hello Bob,
You can continue to use the Canbus connection for the constant plus and minus connection. If this causes malfunctions on your Canbus system, connect directly to the battery. So this applies to the black and red wire.
The yellow wire must be connected to a ignition wire. So the ignition of your bike is on, voltage is present on the yellow wire. The bike’s ignition is off, there is no voltage on the yellow wire. -

Hi Bob,
Your video file cannot be played.
The link points to a location (presumably) on your phone. -
You can watch videos directly from the K3 in the app. You must have an active WiFi connection with the K3. You can also download the videos to your phone first. You can then play them (later) from your phone in the app. But the fastest way to watch the videos is still to insert the SD card into your computer and then watch the videos.
