Hi Paul,
See the Innovv website for an explanation of how to update the firmware.
https://innovv.com/pages/innovv-k7-supportHow To Update K7 Dashcam’s Firmware
Copy the firmware (IN-K7-1.bin) to the root of theTFcard. (Please use 8 to 32GB TF cards and the TF cards should be formatted into FAT32 in advance.)
Insert the TF card into the camera and turn it on, when the remote control blue light and green light blink alternately, please wait until the lights are off.*Please do not power off and operate the K7 while it is updating. After the successful upgrade, the K7 will automatically boot up and the red light will solid on. The firmware will be deleted once updating is finished.

Hi Bill,
Always format the SD card using the Innovv app. Also if you have read the SD card in your computer and then put it back in your K7, then also format it again using the app.
It can happen that an SD card that has been read in a computer by the Innovv camera cannot be handled properly, resulting in recordings failing. -
Hi Nitro,
Did you format the SD card using the Innovv?
Even if you removed the SD card from the K5 and then put it in a computer, it is recommended to format it again with the app when you put the SD card back in the K5.
The videos are also not under protected or accident videos?
The IP address of the K5 can be 192.1681.254, otherwise you can use the command ‘arp /a’ with the command window. Then you will see everything within your network. -

I have tested my K2 a bit more, but I can’t get any further with alternative methods to reset the K2.
Since the K2 is already old and no longer has a warranty, you can consider opening the DVR and see what the internal condition is. Maybe you will see moisture damage and then you will know right away that it is the end of the K2. -
Hi Marcel,
Thanks for the feedback, it is appreciated.
Have fun with your K3. -

Administrator2025-06-26 at 16:32 in reply to: K5 power supply issue with lithium betteries, and overall usage.Hi Maciej,
Strange that you had a power supply issue because of the type of battery you are using. The capacity of a battery should not affect the battery voltage. With a lead, AGM or lithium battery, the voltage should always be around 12.5V – 13V.
And yes, it is indeed a great camera. I have had it in my BMW for years. In the BMW I have an AGM battery (2024). With a K5 and a K3, both with parking mode active, and an alarm system I have no problems with draining the battery. I can easily leave the bike parked for 4 weeks and then the parking mode still works and starting the engine is no problem.
I have the resolution set to 4K30 + 1080P30 and the bitrate at maximum.
Up to speeds above 200KmH, the image quality is still good for me. -

Hi Phil,
Perhaps you know someone who is handy with a 3D printer and can make a cover?
I would like to hear your experiences with the N1. -

The K2 has not been sold for quite some time. That is why there is no topic for the K2 in the forum.
One of the cameras is used as a wifi antenna. I thought this was the front camera, but I am not sure anymore. So it could be that a defective camera is causing the problems. To rule this out, you can disconnect one of the cameras and see what happens. You can also swap the front and rear cameras. This way you can perhaps find out whether one of the cameras is defective.
Can you access the K2 SD card if you connect the K2 to your computer via USB?
What happens if you hold down the gray button on the DVR for more than 10 seconds?
The K2 sometimes also has the problem that the SD card does not make good contact. It then seems as if the SD card is too thin.
It is best to perform an update with an SD card between 8 and 32GB. A larger SD card can sometimes cause problems.
I have some older firmware versions available if you want to try a different version. -
Hi Luke,
I think the trickle charger has activated the Thunderbox somehow.
Why not also connect the – directly to the battery?
The K6 requires minimum current when it is switched off, so you don’t have to worry about draining the battery.
If you have connected the – to the battery and you hold the yellow wire against the + of the battery and the K6 starts up well, works well and if you disconnect the yellow wire from the + of the battery and the K6 switches off well, then you know that the K6 is working well. You should then look for the problem with the Thunderbox.
In general, the experiences with Thunderboxes, exCan here on this forum are not positive.
As for the firmware update, you can (almost) not break anything. Use an 8 to 32Gb SD card for the update. And if it doesn’t work, you can always perform the firmware update again. -
Hi Mark,
I would first check all connectors to see if they are properly connected and have no (moisture) damage.
Also check the power supply connections. The fact that the power LED lights up blue when the engine is off and flashes when the engine is on is not a good sign. Have you connected the yellow wire properly to a switched power supply?
What happens if you remove the SD card, does the K3 boot properly? Also try reloading the firmware. -
Hi Luke,
You could remove the rear camera and reinstall it. Maybe it was a loose/dirty contact.
Possibly also reload the firmware. It could be that the firmware has also become corrupted due to all the malfunctions, causing the rear camera to no longer work.
Also make sure that the cables are not too tight. Due to the vibration of the bike, tightly tensioned cables can also become defective. -
Hi Luke,
I am not familiar with systems like the Thunderbox, ezCan and such. But it seems to me that you can set the Thunderbox to switch in some way. The fact remains that the Innovv cameras need a constant and a switched power supply. Therefore never connect the yellow and red wire together.
You could connect the K6 directly to your battery and let the yellow wire switch through the Thunderbox. -
Hi Dave,
Hardware wise the cameras are different. There is no adapter to make them compatible. I think you will be cheaper off by buying the right cameras. With an adapter (if one exists) the chance of malfunctions is also greater. -
Hi Eduard,
The latest firmware is version IK6.20231107.V1.0.01
The speed of the wifi cannot be increased. The wifi is 2.4G. So actually too slow to download many/large videos at once.
If you connect the main camera to your computer via USB, you can download your videos a bit faster. Or you must have the possibility to place the SD card directly in your computer.
