Hi Richard,
The ThirdEye works with frequencies between 77-79Ghz. Radar detectors generally work between 10-27Ghz. I therefore do not expect a radar detector to be activated by the ThirdEye.
I have never been stopped by the police because their radar detector would have gone off because of my ThirdEye. In addition, the ThirdEye points backwards and that is also not a logical place for a radar detector.
The radar of a car with adaptive cruise control is also around 77Ghz. And these do not cause any problems either.
So you can drive without any problems with your ThirdEye. -

My experience with parking mode is that it draws such a low current that it does not immediately discharge your battery. I have a 14Ah battery in my motorcycle. No problem if it stands still for a few weeks with a K3, a K5 and an alarm system connected.I suspect that there is another problem with your voltage circuit than that the parking mode of your K3 was the cause.
If in doubt, try it yourself with a multimeter or visit your dealer to see if they can determine the cause of your low battery voltage.-

Hi Scott,
Unfortunately I am not familiar with the Thunderbox. Do you perhaps have a link to a manual?
‘I see the green light start to fade and then go off’, do you mean the green LED of the K6 or of the Thunderbox?
When you turn on the ignition, is there voltage on the yellow wire? Can you measure that?
If you hold the yellow wire against the connection of the red wire, does the K6 turn on, so you are bridging the Thunderbox for a moment. -
Hi Michaël,
Don’t forget to make a modification so that the K5 stays on when the ignition of your motorcycle is off. An extra switch between the yellow and red wire perhaps. -
Hi Peter,
Thanks for the feedback.
I’m glad you managed to solve the problem.
Have fun with your K3. -
Hi Sean,
The power module can be transferred. The cameras cannot be transferred if I remember correctly. I have already asked Innovv about this.
I have no experience myself, I want to avoid destroying an Innovv set. -
Hi Peter,
Normally the shortest wifi time should be 1 minute.
What if you reinstall the firmware? Then you know for sure that all settings are back to factory settings.
Are video recordings still being made, check this by inserting the SD card into your computer. If no recordings are made from either camera, then there is more going on.
Are the other LEDs on the remote control lit?
You also turned on the ignition of the motorcycle when you want to turn on the wifi connection? And you don’t have a voltage problem, your motorcycle. Too low a supply voltage can sometimes also cause strange problems. -
Hi Jeff,
The amount of current at rest is indeed very small.
I have never had problems with draining the battery on my motorcycle (BMW K1600GT) with a battery from 2018 and an alarm system that is continuously on. After 6 weeks I could still start the engine without any problems. I have the K3 and the K5 on my bike. With other Innovv cameras than the K7 with a separate power module, the power module switches off the parking mode when the battery voltage becomes too low. The blue LED on the power module then also goes out.
I expect that the K7 has the same voltage control, only not with a separate power module but built into the DVR.

Hi Darrell,
The K5 automatically starts recording when the ignition of the motorcycle is turned on.
How do you want to view the videos? What actions do you perform? This can give more information about where things might go wrong.
The green recording LED, does it burn continuously or does it flash?
See the manual for an explanation of the LED on the remote control.
If you remove the SD card from the K5 and put it in your computer, do you see recordings?
In what format is the video recorded, MP4 or in TS? TS files are not recognized by every phone, in this case set them to MP4.
What is your G-sensor set to, if it is set too sensitive, all your recordings go to the accident folder.
A good minute loop is shorter than 5 minutes, so you don’t have to scroll through too much if you are looking for a specific moment in your recording. -

Is the fuse still intact?
Is the K3 receiving power on the yellow wire? If it remains powerless, the K3 will no longer switch on automatically.
If you disconnect the power module from the K3 and connect a USB power bank (with sufficient power) via the USB port of the K3, will the K3 start up?In general, the charging voltage for a motorcycle is around 13.8V.
The K3 can be switched on at voltages lower than 12.5V (I don’t know what the lower limit is). Only at voltages lower than 12.5V will the parking mode not work. The blue LED of the power module will not light up either.A too low battery voltage can have several causes, including:
– too much power consumer (new headlight?)
– a bad dynamo
– a bad voltage regulator
– a defective battery
– etc.Can you measure the battery voltage when the battery is connected to the motorcycle and the engine is running? Measuring your battery without a load gives an incorrect indication of your battery status. Even a bad battery can still measure a high voltage. But if a load is connected, it will certainly drop immediately. So measuring with a load gives a better measurement result.

Hi Scott,
I suspect that it is going wrong because the red and yellow wires are powered at the same time when the Thunderbox is turned on. You will have to connect the K6 so that the red wire is continuously powered and the yellow wire only gets power when the ignition is turned on. So only connect the yellow wire to the green wire of the Thunderbolt. -
I also requested the firmware adjustment to retrieve the date/time from the GSP signal a long time ago. Unfortunately. But the more people make this request, the greater the chance that Innovv will take action on this.
At the moment, the time is retrieved from your phone when you click on Time Calibration in the app. But if your battery is no longer good, see previous post, then this will probably no longer work properly. -
Hi Sean,
Innovv does not offer a repair service. But you can always try an email. Who knows, they might offer a repair service by now.I also suspect that the shipping costs will be higher than ordering an equivalent battery online and soldering it yourself. Maybe you know someone in your circle of friends who is handy with a soldering iron?

Administrator2024-08-22 at 23:39 in reply to: K3 stopped working after BMW GS 1250 Headlight update?Hi Michaël,
The fact that the LED remains blue indicates that the battery voltage is sufficient to use the parking mode. If the battery voltage is too low, the parking mode will automatically be switched off to ensure that the battery is not drained. The blue LED will then not light up.
If the blue LED flashes, the battery voltage is just at the tipping point of whether or not parking mode is in use.Groet uit Soesterberg

Hi Joseph,
After the few seconds that the wifi connection has been present, how does the wifi LED on the remote control light up/flash when the connection is no longer active? And how does this LED light up/flash when the connection is still active? Can you check with another phone (preferably Android) whether the same problem occurs? This is to rule out whether the problem is related to the phone.
With the K6 I can simulate the problem by offering a supply voltage that is too low (too little power). Result: K6 starts up. Wifi connection is established but after a few seconds the connection is disconnected again. I suspect that establishing and maintaining the wifi connection costs more power and if this cannot be supplied the wifi connection is disconnected.
Attached is a print screen with the correct app, because I understand from the email exchange that there is/was some confusion about this.
Hopefully we can still figure out what is going wrong.
