    Hi Jeff,
You can set the wifi active duration to on. The wifi connection will then remain active continuously.
According to the manual, you can start and stop recording by holding the button for 3 seconds. In my experience, 3 seconds does not work, you have to hold the button for about 9 to 10 seconds before the K6 turns off. The K6 cannot be turned on with the button. You then have to disconnect the USB power and reconnect it.

5 minutes of recording gives 2 files of about 175MB (front) and about 140MB (rear). This at a resolution of 2560×1440 P30 (front) and 1920×1080 P30 (rear). With a 256GB card you can then record about 40 hours.
The chance that you overwrite a recording is therefore small.

    @INNOVV
Can you make improvements to turning the K6 on and off using the button on the K6? This if the K6 is powered by a USB power bank. The manual is incorrect in this case.
Also, according to the manual, the recording cannot be started and stopped using the app, which is incorrect. The recording can be started and stopped using the app.
This applies to firmware version IK6.2031107.V1.0.01

    Hi Richard,
Are the recordings from the rear camera no longer recorderd or are they only not visible in the app?

    1 – Not recorded:
Check the connectors of your camera. Are they still properly connected? Is there no moisture in the connectors. Is the red rubber ring still present in the connector, this is necessary to keep the connector waterproof.

2 – Recorded, not visible in the app:
Are the settings in the app still correct. In the live screen in the app you can press the round gray button at the top right of the screen (F, R F/R, R/F). This allows you to choose which camera you want to have visible. Click on this button and a selection menu will pop up.
In the technical settings you can also indicate how this image should appear by default.

    Hi Bob,
If the audio is present I expect the problem is with your iPhone. Could it be that your iPhone does not have the right codec for the audio?
Try playing the video with VLC media player.

    Hi Collin,

To start the K6 when the ignition is turned on, you must supply the K6 with power using the DC converter.
With the DC converter you have an extra connection, the yellow wire that works as a trigger to turn the K6 on and off when the ignition of your motorcycle is turned on and off.
The way you currently supply the K6 with power does not have this trigger function. This is actually the option for installation on a bicycle where you cannot use a switched power supply as a trigger.

    Hi Jozsef,
I looked up some old K2 recordings of my K2.
When I watch these videos again I don’t see the artifacts you have. The videos can be viewed via these links.
    https://forestmountain.nl/innovv/K2-front.MP4
    https://forestmountain.nl/innovv/K2-rear.MP4
Unfortunately, during the recording of the front camera, a large mosquito landed on the lens, causing a dark spot to be seen on the right side of the screen.
The firmware used is the original version V0.74

    Hi Sean,
It’s been a while since I opened my K2. I think it was just a few small screws that you have to loosen. I’m not sure anymore, but I thought there was also a rubber seal under the lid.
The battery is soldered and looks something like the attached photo.
And make sure your ESD works safely.
The battery ensures that the settings made in the K2 are maintained
I think the date time is taken from the app and not from the GPS signal. I haven’t had my own K2 active for a long time, so I can’t say for sure.

    Hey Nick,
iPhones sometimes have some difficulty establishing a WiFi connection with Innovv cameras. The advice here is to put the iPhone in airplane mode and then manually establish a WiFi connection with the K3. So what you read is correct.
You may have a virus scanner active on your iPhone. If so, try turning it off and see what happens. After you have done the rest, have you checked the SD card using a PC to see whether the recordings continue to go well after the reset? In any case, all recordings go well.
Can you take a test drive with the power module disconnected and the K3 powered with a USB power bank? This is to rule out the possibility that power supply failures could cause problems.
Are all connectors still properly connected and free of moisture? Small rubber rings must be present in the connectors to ensure that the connectors are watertight. Bad connections can also cause mailfunctions.
Is it possible to install and test the app on another phone? Preferably not an iPhone but an Android.

    Hi Sean,
A small backup battery is soldered into the K2. It could be that capacity is decreasing.
If you are technically handy and can handle a soldering iron, you can replace it yourself.
As far as I know, this is not a common weakness. I do not recognize the complaints with other Innovv models. Could you please give me a link where this is stated.

I had a similar complaint with my own K2. But that only happened because I had stretched a tyrap too tight over the button on the DVR while mounting the DVR unit. As a result, a kind of factory reset was always performed. The button of your K2 is not clamped/pressed?

Another cause may be that the battery capacity of your motorcycle becomes poor. When starting the motorcycle, a lot of power is required. If your battery is deteriorating, a large voltage dip may occur that can cause current or current in the K2.

Can you power the K2 with a USB power bank? Disconnect the power module before connecting the USB powerbank. If the K2 settings are retained, the cause is not the K2’s backup battery.
With a USB power bank power supply connected, you can switch the K2 on and off using the button on the DVR unit.

    Hi Bob,
The accessory power supply is the power supply to automatically switch the K7 on/off with the ignition of your motorcycle.
By the way, it is best to connect the constant plus and minus directly to the battery.
For example, you can connect the yellow wire to the lighting of your license plate. This lighting only comes on when your ignition is on. The K7 then turns on when your rear light is turned on the K7 and turns off again when the ignition is turned off.

    Hi Joseph,
Did you put the iPhone in airplane mode as I wrote in an earlier answer and then manually make a wifi connection with the K3? When you try to connect to the K3, does the WiFi LED on the remote control light up/flash?
Which customer service did you contact, Innovv.com or another supplier?

2024-07-22 at 01:38 in reply to: Question K7 power wiring

    Hi Bob,
I have no experience with the K7, but I do have experience with other Innovv models.
The following does not necessarily apply to the K7.
The DVR can become warm because it also houses the processor. The housing of the DVR then works as a heat sink. So it is true that it can heat up well. But it should not happen so warm/hot that the DVR/Cameras can no longer be touched
The cameras also contain the necessary electronics that generate heat.
In parking mode the camera/DVR will not get warm. The K7 is then in ‘sleep mode’ and consumes little power.
If the power consumption is as low as that of the K3 or K5, you can certainly leave the motorcycle for a few weeks. I assume that you have a good battery in your motorcycle.
The K7 switches off automatically when the ignition is switched off. And if you have enabled parking mode, the K7 will monitor whether the battery voltage becomes too low. Below 12.5V, the parking mode will be switched off to protect your battery from draining.

    Hello Bob,
You can continue to use the Canbus connection for the constant plus and minus connection. If this causes malfunctions on your Canbus system, connect directly to the battery. So this applies to the black and red wire.
The yellow wire must be connected to a ignition wire. So the ignition of your bike is on, voltage is present on the yellow wire. The bike’s ignition is off, there is no voltage on the yellow wire.
